Well, at least you admit that your wife and child is a better cause than playing martyr in the desert. As far as bravery goes, my dog used to try and stop vehicles from coming into the yard by attacking the tires. Brave…maybe. Still didn’t make him any less of an idiot. ---

Flashes of Jonestown keep popping into my head. I can just see all these kids being talked at by whatever authority figure is in charge, pounding into their heads that “saddam and everyone in the middle east will love us, and there’s absolutely _no_ way dubya will bomb anywhere we could possibly be… we’re absolutely, completely safe”… it’s really sad. It would be something if Bush was really ready to go ahead with the war on all accounts, and the only thing that stopped him were this handful of naive neohippies. Somehow I think it would resolve itself in other ways. It would be awfully bad publicity for Bush if were to deliberately murder American civilians. ---

I doubt the public will have much sympathy. I don’t think it will work, but I also don’t think these people will get killed. I’m guessing they aren’t going to position themselves in front of militarily important targets (I’m hoping). ---

Their goal is to protect civilians. Traditionally, the US government doesn’t care about collateral damage to civilians if they are anywhere near (like a fifty mile radius) of something they think might be a military target (like a baby food factory). So maybe the protesters will force the Bushies to be more careful where they bomb. ---

I cannot call it murder when idiots put themselves in harm’s way. I would easier call it suicide. They won’t target these knuckleheads. But they won’t let them stand in the way, either. That said, I don’t think there’s gonna be war. Support is fading, folks are not buying the reasons and you can’t have a tax cut **AND** a war at the same time. ---

Bush should make a point of blowing them up first. Perhaps computer chips could be used to tag them and then missiles can be targeted on their locations in Iraq. In any case, none of them should make it back to THIS country alive. ---
