Good point, but after posting off and on for a month and a half, all I’ve found out is atheists are all different. The general public isn’t interested in hearing that atheists are living satisfying lives. The theists already have satisfying lives, they are like me they want to live at the top of their meters…they want to live better lives and atheists have little to offer in that regard. ---

I’m just a practical guy, if atheism doesn’t help me to improve my life it isn’t worth dwelling on. I’m not interested in learning more about the scientific method or logic…I’ve had 20 years of that training. ---

No - I believe I live a full life with plenty of activity and the right balance of world views, morals and whatever other word you want to throw in there. My not believing in GOD has no impact on those things - my use of logic, the scientific method, etc - are all just ‘peices’ of the whole. You continue to think that atheists are ‘boring, apathetic’ people with no hope of making a difference, that don’t make a difference, etc - and that somehow ‘theists’ are none of those things. You continue to think that ‘atheism’ has nothing to offer - and you simply refuse to accept that ‘atheism’ never tried to offer something- its not a religion or a philosophy or anything else - it is a simple statement and nothing more. Theism is also - a simple statement - "belief in god or gods’ - until you tack on a religion or other trappings to it - it means and offers exactly the same thing as atheism - absolutely nothing. The biggest difference between an average atheist and an average theist - is that by and large, the atheist is willing to accept new data that conflicts with his/her previous views and wiegh them appropriately - the average theist will ignore such things - especially when it conflicts with his/her ‘faith’ - as you have illustrated quite nicely over your tenure here at the dope.
