I was planning to go to the Observatory at about 5.00am tomorrow to view the [total lunar eclipse](http://astro.ukho.gov.uk/eclipse/1312011/). The presence of volcanic dust in the atmosphere over Australia could make things interessting. But we’ve been having a week of gloomy, wet weather and it doesn’t look like it’s going to change overnight.

[MSNBC article](http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/06/14/6860047-watch-the-total-lunar-eclipse-online), plus some webcams that will have camera focused on the eclipse.

I got up at 4.00am to check the weather, but it was overcast, so I went straight back to bed. I don’t think it was possible to see any of it from Sydney.
