A couple of months ago I went to my neighborhood pharmacy to get a prescription refill. Instead of the usual $59 and change, the cashier rang up $59 \*\*\*thousand \*\*\*and change. Jokingly, I told her I’d have to stop at the bank to get a loan. She gave me a bewildered look, so I pointed at the amount on the register, adding “I couldn’t even charge it; my limit isn’t that high.” So she said, “We do accept personal checks.” Mercifully, the pharmacist overheard and voided the transaction.
