# It’s Been Fun & Informative Being Here

I believe actions speak louder than words. So with that this will be my last visit to SDMB. This was one of a few websites left that I took refuge from the Gorilla tactic advertisers have taken on lately.
It is sad that SDMB is following suit. Where we given option? Might we have paid a couple dollars more a year to offset expenses?

I am not sure what you are on about. I have not had any Gorilla [sic] tactic advertising on this board. Do you perhaps have some spyware?

The SDMB is starting to display Google banner ads on most, if not all, threads. What bitching about it in the wrong forum and dramatically leaving is to accomplish, I have no idea.

I suspect he’s referring to the ‘sponsored links’ block that has recently appeared on board pages. I’m not sure if it’s gorilla advertising or even guerilla advertising… but it’s new advertising and I’m not surprised if a few people got upset by it.
Personally, I don’t think it’s that disruptive and so I’m remaining calm 😃

What ads? Where? I swear sometimes I think people are on an entirely different SDMB and somehow the two collide or something.
I have yet to see an ad for anything–in 4 different forums.
I did like his bold and large font–didn’t need my reading glasses for that post…
