Hitler is proof that although it is possible to travel through time it is not possible to change it. There were a huge number of attempts to kill him, all unsuccessful. Obviously time travelers keep inventing time machines, go back in time and try to kill him and fail. ---

Maybe his existence is the result of future time travelers successfully killing off the more competent Nazis who originally took over Germany. ---

I’d try to look like an American tourist who got lost. “_Bitte, wo ist der Johannes?_…please, don’t shoot me.” If I managed to kill Hitler with my bare hands, he might be replaced by somebody like Himmler. And Himmler would have been a worse Hitler than Hitler. “Let’s FIRST concentration-camp all the Jews and Slavs and communists and homosexuals, and once they’re all dead THEN worry about _Lebensraum_.” ---

After studying WW2 very carefully, I would think that Hitler declaring war on the USA was the single largest factor involved in his losing the war. It was not a very good strategic move to make. Actually, it was a kind of dopey thing to do. I don’t think he was very clever. ---

That specific time and place would be a horrible choice to kill Hitler as an attempt to stop ww2. By then the nazis already controlled the reichstag. The SA and SS were already formed. The government of the time had already decided the Versailles treaty had to end. Conscription was impossible, but thought necessary so the SA and SS were being bolstered as a substitute army and not just by Hitler, but by Schleiser, the man who would’ve probably been named chancellor of Germany at hitlers assassination. Who was also equally determined to end democracy in Germany. Ww2 was fought by the entire country not just Hitler, and the gears were already moving in 1933. All i know is don’t go back and try to burn down the reichstag. ---

Sorry guys. I already tried to kill him and it only convinced him to go on the offensive and start that whole World War II thing. My bad. I’d try again, but the DeLoreans in this timeline were built with these weird upward sweeping doors. I can’t make them work. ---

Might it be possible to convince Hitler to “play nice”? Meaning do not seek to conquer other countries but instead, make Germany an icon of peace and to make friends with its neighbors. ---
