Around here, the High School has spirit weeks with dress-up themes, and the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are popular. Having lived through the 80’s as a teen, I recognize the dress (jelly shoes, “Madonna Look”, parachute pants, etc.) as 80’s parody (if not 80’s reality where I lived. It got me thinking. What do you predict future generations will use to parody/portray our days? The only thing I can think of immediately is that they will carry an Ipad. Your thoughts? ---

I think that the feature of this era that will look oddest to those in the future will be the fact that all portraits seem to be self-portraits with the sitter’s arm that’s holding the camera going out of the frame. ---

Are we looking at this as 2000-2010 or as 2010 being the start of 2010-2020? That will affect what parts of the era you are pulling from. I am going with Sparkly psudo-vampire emo. ---

I miss my jelly shoes! =) Current stereotypable trends? Skinny jeans. At least 3 thin layers on top and a hoodie over that. Livestrong-esque wristbands. Those ENORMOUS sunglasses that make people look like grasshoppers. ---

Emulate some piercings and tattoos. If you’re a guy, wear a shirt/top that goes WAY WAY down, then saggy pants that pick up where the shirt left off, so it looks like your hip zone is at your knees If you’re a gal, wear ridiculously high heels. 8 inch spike heels if you can find them. ---
