Urrr. Just got back from Indian buffet with Mr. Lissar and Driving Husband. Am going to fall over. First I have to take apart a crock-potted chicken. I had naan and dal and butter chicken and aloo gobi and gulab jamun. I love Indian buffets. I’m going to succumb to Food Coma. ---

Don’t suppose anyone’s around, but I’m taking a break from being productive and thought I’d stop by to report, not to mention keep this on the front page where it belongs. I’ve dropped off dry cleaning, been to the grocery where I found strawberries on sale, had a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for lunch (thanks to a thread in IMHO), done about 4 loads of laundry, started the process of reverticalizing an evergreen that has been parallel to the ground since the ice storm at Christmas, and am about to attack the kitchen. I’m currently eating strawberries with balsamic vinegar and some chocolate. Strawberries aren’t as good as I’d hoped (but I’m going to let them sit around and hit room temperature; maybe that’ll help). Later I’m hoping to do some filing, shredding and, FINALLY my taxes. Oh, and I want to go to the library. And there was the mug thing. I wonder what their hours are… What’s everyone else doing this weekend? GT ---

While my sweetie and I were out running errands and such, our dog decided she needed to tear apart the bottom portion of the door to the basement. I have no idea what possessed her, but for some reason, she felt the need to go to the basement. So doggie is on the _baaaaaaaaad_ list. We’re being promised 60 degrees tomorrow, and I plan to do some raking, and maybe I’ll feed my newly-pruned roses. Exciting, yes? ---

Then we went to the bookstore, and I found a very funny book called “Doorknob the Rabbit and the Carnival of Bugs.” It’s hysterically funny–if you have kids, you should get this book. Then we went to a play, and then I had to go to the grocery store to get Mom some prunes. That’s pretty much it. ---

I think I might have to repost this in tomorrow’s thread, just to make sure it gets enough attention, but we got a book caled _Teen Angst- a Celebration of Really Bad Poetry_ in at work, and we read bits of it aloud last night. It is _very_ funny. Here’s my favourite excerpt: _Through the darkness and the grim I never felt a feeling until I saw him every organ in my body is being ripped out and my happiness is being pecked by the trout_ :Lissla falls about laughing: All of the poems are genuine written-in-tearstained-journals teen poems turned in by their (now much older and more sensible) authors. You can hear the NIN and Enya playing in the background in a black-painted room, lit with black candles. It’s great. I’m going to buy copies for a bunch of people. ---

I don’t think I want to pursue that thought any further. Well, yesterday the shop was open, so I was there, with #2 granddaughter, who is 8-yrs-old. She wass pretty good. I only had to burst her bubble once. The wheedling behaviour that she indulges in at home, that apparently is successful for her there, doesn’t go over _at all_ with Grampa. Last night the Oregon Symphony came to Newberg to do a concert here. We took #2GD with us. It was fabulous. We went to the reception for the conductor after, which was way cool, too, even though they didn’t have my favorite coconut macarooms this year. #2GD and her parents are gone back to Eugene (100 mi. South) now, and we have the house to ourselves again. Today I have to cut up a sheet of plywood and make boxes, but I’m procrastinating. And hungry. I think I’ll go eat breakfast, or lunch, or something. ---

Silly **Bumba** , the poem says right there that you use _happiness_ as bait for the wiley pecking trout. Thank goodness the one wise thing I did as a teenager was to not write poetry. I did the goofy hair instead. What have I done this weekend. Absolutely nothing. Oh okay, I finally got the tech people to help me fix my computer so I could use the internet again. Indian accents are cool. ---

I’m only bumping this so that others can (what’s the right word?..ah yes…) admire the lovely poetry you have so generously shared with us. So, is anyone else troubled by the fact that there are 2 MMPs on the front page (really, this one was 5 or six from the bottom when I started) in addition to **beckwall’s** MMP-related “I must be excused”? Or did I mean “proud of the fact that”… Maybe that’s what the “No one can stop me now” thread is REALLY about?
