I have a funny story about 4/20. I used to be a college instructor at a liberal arts college in Connecticut. One year I had the dubious distinction of teaching a psych 202 class in the afternoon. It was a 3:45-5pm class and it was for the most part a fun class. On April 20th at 4:15-ish in the afternoon, I noticed a group of students [it was a lecture hall with 60 kids in it] get up and leave. All of them at the same time. I ceased my lecture and stopped them at the door, they all said they had some sort of practice to attend for the upcoming campus wide music festival. I said infront of the entire class, are you sure you won’t be practicing for 4:20, on 4/20? :eek: the entire class laughed, and the departing students blushed and continued on their way… What did they think I was born yesterday? Even profs. know what 4:20 is…especially at a school where “green” is not just part of the school colors but a rich bouquet that can oft be smelled coming from the granite windows of the dormatories. 🙂😉 ---

My dad’s union local is 420. It has always been 420 and I have always known what 4/20 was. I never made the connection until I was wearing a t-shirt from my dad’s union and some stoners were “admiring” it 🙂 I told my dad last year what 420 means and he’s quite proud. I was even at a head shop around Christmas and saw some sort of fake “Smoker’s Union, Local 420” shirt and it made me laugh. ---

4:20 has special meaning to the cannabis indulgers amongst us. TBH I have never fully understood why, but have generally celebrated it anyway. ---
