I do respect folk art, Mr. Chance - clearly by your own description it’s a genre that requires time and effort for mastery. My quibble is with insta-art and cookiecutter approaches. I say, if you could give the supplies to 10 willing adults and have 8 of them reproduce it themselves on the spot, then it ain’t worth celebrating.
Scarlett, I’ll just bet your stuff is lovely. A lot of folks in my office do beadwork, although we’re all total amateurs. Last year at a special Gift Mart (a little more high-end) I bought a wonderful crazy bold bracelet from a bead artist.
I also take back part of my original comment. I just got back from the part of the Art Fair that is on State Street, the one run by the Michigan guild, and there were a lot of craft-fair type folk there. Candles, inexpensive ceramics, etc.
