These days, I prefer frozen raviolis cooked up and served with my homemade sketty sauce - much better! ---

But that’s not as easy as opening a can and putting a bowl in a microwave. Unless the sauce has already been made and saved. I found a nice brand of frozen ravs at Sprouts the other day. Tasted pretty good. Used a store brand sauce, too. ---

I try to keep several zip bags of sauce in the freezer - when I get down to my last bag, it’s time to make up a new batch! It’s my go-to easy meal. ---

They do seem to have kicked up the sugar content in those canned pasta things, as well as jarred sauces. I can’t recall if it was Ragu or Prego, but the last time we had it, I thought someone made a tomato and herb-flavored ice cream topping. Post bariatric surgery, DH can’t really have much pasta (a tragedy for a Sicilian!) so we don’t buy much spaghetti sauce any more. Silly observation du jour… there’s a new hair salon in my office building. We’re roughly half the size of The Pentagon, but still of similar proportions and flat. If we were a tower, we’d be as big as the Empire State Building. The salon’s name? Tower Salon. Who considers a huge broad five-story building to be a tower? I think they’ve been sniffing the hair dye… 😃 ---

Veggies have been tossed into the pot with the corned beef. We should be able to eat in 15 minutes or so. \*\*Spaz \*\*- I’ve got the pellet stove cooking at the moment - not super hot, but enough to take the chill out of the room. I’ll turn it down tonight - with luck, it’ll be enough to keep the furnace from coming on. We’re promised 30s for the next 4 nights. :eek: ---

I read online yesterday that Noel Harrison had passed away. He was Rex Harrison’s oldest child, 79, and in addition to being a folk singer (Windmills of my Mind), he was also “Mark Slate” on “The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.” I loved that show! I had a crush on Noel/“Mark” but I also had a girl crush on Stefanie Powers/“April Dancer” to the extent that I actually considered changing my name to April! I loved their MOD clothes too. Ah well, it’s definitely the end of an era. Happy Hump Day all! ---

Dang - he was that old?? That’s my mother’s age!! He was OK, but he was no Illya Kuryakin. _\_ Supper was OK - the hunk of corned beef I picked was super-fatty. Isn’t it clever how they package it so that you only see the lean meat… And I over-boiled the N.O.T.s - they were way too mushy, but they tasted OK, so there’s that. We’ll wait a bit before we have carrot cake. \*mmmmmmmmmmmmm \*- carrot cake… ---
