It's a Great Day in South Carolina! (Check in, damp Dopers.)

I decided to roll the dice on the water, even though I’m also not in an area where the advisory has been lifted. I’ll take my chances with contaminated water at least for brushing my teeth–and I don’t normally drink tap water anyway. I don’t like to drink anything clear.

It is a serious pain in the butt-parts to not be able to just trust your dishwasher if you have a toddler. All of those stupid cups have to be boiled all the stupid time.

I’m not risking the water - the showers still smell kinda pondy, and I do drink a ton of tap water. Well, did.

WATER! We got POTABLE WATER! (Well we did yesterday, actually. I spent all last night doing dishes with joy.) Eleven days!

I had FEMA inspectin’ the homestead this morning, which was surreal. Finally did track down my roofer but he won’t be able to look at it until next week at the earliest - frankly I feel bad even complaining about anything, considering what happened to other people. I’ve been helping people fill out their FEMA applications at the library ever since we opened back up.
