Well, with information this “hot” it’s no surprise how “fast” it surfaced after Sept 11, 2001. :rolleyes: Sure let’s blame Clinton for WTC and Pentagon attacks. Personally, I blame Nostradamus for not acting on this in his lifetime. This just in … James Buchanan _could_ have prevented the Civil War, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln _and_ the impeachment of Andrew Johnson. More “news” on this story as soon as I make it up. ---

Would killing OBL be a good thing? Seriously, think about it. What if Al Queada turns out to be a hydra? You cut off the head and two grow back. If the US kills OBL, he gets elevated to sainthood in some people’s eyes. Sometimes, it is better to not kill the godfather but to try and do in his underlings. ---

Did GWB want the UN to lift sanctions against the Taliban? (It amazes me the details I don’t know about this stuff.) I do recall that in 2001, Bush had Taliban representatives visit him in DC, as if they were from a legitimate government. ---

Clinton refused them all. _Now_ he wants us to believe that he thought Osama was _so_ important that he made a point of stressing this fact to Bush when he took over. And he says the only name he thought of on 9/11 was “Osama.” Well, which way do you idiots want it? Either Clinton was aware that OBL was a danger to the US and did nothing…or he didn’t place much emphasis on capturing/killing him, but \*still \* found it necessary to tell Bush how dangerous he was. ---

Right, because either Clinton thought Osama was dangerous enough to assassinate, violating all kinds of international law and general moral principles, or he didn’t think Osama was dangerous at all. No room for any middle ground there, nosirreebob. Maybe, just maybe, Clinton thought Osama warranted close watching but not murder, which is precisely what he had the CIA do - watch closely, but don’t take out. I won’t bother going into the repeated concerns expressed by the Clinton administration about civilian casualties in any assassination attempt, because clearly you don’t think Afghani civilian lives are worth being concerned about. ---

AQ is still dangerous, but probably not capable of a major international attack like September 11th. In part, it still exists because Bin Laden has become a mythologized hero.
