Yup, the Kodak falcons are back in Rochester (NY) and breeding!!!
For all you voyeurs out there, check out the BirdCam. Live shots from 4 cameras on the nest box high atop Mt. Kodak in downtown Rachacha, overlooking the baseball field.
[Peregrine Falcon BirdCam 2002](http://birdcam.kodak.com/) Click on “4 camera views” for different angles. Sometimes the parents are there, some times they’re away. And check the “Gallereies” for past pictures.
Woohoo. If I wasn’t an owl, I’d be a Peregrine.

Whoa, yer right! That was one scary look there.
Enlarge the view from camera 2: it’s the near-spherical object just southeast of center, larger than the rest of the grqvel in the nestbox. The view is a lot clearer in the daytime/sunlight, and the egg is mottled brown and beige.
One egg for now, possibly more in the next few days.

Hey, screech-owl, I never got around to saying thanks for the EagleCam you posted back before the Big Crash. I sent it to a ton of people and we’ve all loved watching the eaglet grow.
My mom named it “Edgar” and checks on “him” roughly every 5 minutes. She refused to listen when I pointed out that Edgar was mostly likely a girl 😉
Lately it seems that Edgar’s around less and less, and going by the updates it would seem that the family may have moved on, so I’m hoping the Peregrines help Mom fill the void! Ok, and me, too!

Still searching for a really neat Vulture Cam site I found last year - a brood of Black Vultures set up in an abandoned farmhouse somewhere in Maryland (IIRC).

My mental image on reading this thread title went something like this…
It’s late at night at the **screech-owl** home. All the residents are snug in their beds, snores are heard wafting through the air, the dog twitches in its sleep.
Suddenly, in the sky above the house, a streak of light appears, followed by a growing roar. In the space of seconds, the house is shaking, everyone in it is awake, and the object from space crashes down with a deafening impact only a quarter mile away.
Armed with a shotgun and a flashlight, dressed in a bathrobe, pajamas and slippers, **screech-owl** heads outside to investigate. The object isn’t tough to find; it’s a small orb, dark against the glowing embers of incinerated plant life around its impact site. **screech-owl** reaches down; the object is football-sized, and curiously cool, with a texture like a Naugahyde couch. **screech-owl** picks it up, and takes it home, where the whole family oohs and aaahs over it. Except for the dog, who’s cowering in a corner and whimpering.
The panicked dog is scolded, and put in the yard for the night, and everyone goes back to bed. Soon, silence descends on the house yet again, broken only by the soft whining of the dog outside, and a slight rustling sound from the object on the coffee table. Snoring comes from a bedroom nearby, as a tear appears in the side of the object, and a tentacle slides slowly out, reaching, reaching out for something on which to feed…
And instead, it was just about bird eggs. Sigh.

i was thinking kinder egg.
the kodak falcons have returned. mariah and kaver have visited the box and are dancing around each other. the cam should be up soon. they had to fix camera 4.

For whatever reason, the “official” Kodak site isn’t up and running yet. But Shakey’s [unofficial](http://shaky.50megs.com/bc-archive.html) site is working, although the main camera appears to be offline right now. _sigh_
Can’t wait to see the eggs. **screech** , you got me hooked on this site last year and I made everyone I worked with look in on the eyases at least once a week.

This year’s Orlando Sentinal Eagle Cam never seemed to go live… and they haven’t [updated the page since December](http://www.orlandosentinel.com/orl-comingeaglewatch2003.story).
As long as this thread’s been bumped… anybody know what’s up with the eagles?
