# It's been done before, but where'd you get your username?

Well, I, for one am glad _you_ started this thread, **D.E.S.K.Top668** , because I was honestly just wondering where you got your username when I saw it in another thread.

As for me, mine is fairly boring.

Real name: Lynn  
Nickname: Linny  
Linny in that “Japanese” translator that used to be on [stupid.com](http://stupid.com): Rinni  
I prefer the look of lowercase r to capital R, so… rinni

Also, this came about so long ago that rinni has evolved into a real life nickname as well. When I think about myself, I mentally call myself rinni. I feel like that’s who I am.

I did my thesis work on hummingbirds in Panama. _Colibri_ is Spanish for hummingbird.
