Sorry. Young Master Bush is “throwing himself into the effort” to save vulnerable Republican senators – the estimable John McCain, the cuddly Kelly Ayotte, for example – by making speeches and raising money. He thinks it’s vital to keep the Senate in Republican hands. The Times article goes on to relate how Bush’s “standing is rising” among Americans of limited memory and intelligence, and how “elite Republicans” are eager to get back in line to lick Bush ass. Also that Bush doesn’t bother to keep up on the affairs of the day like, say, Bill Clinton, but HAS noticed that Trump has been mean to his family’s legacy. ---

Saving the Republican Senate majority is crucial. Any money Bush can raise is a blessing. If Trump continues to self-destruct then the only hope we have is keeping the Republican Senate majority. They can minimize the damage Hillary does. ---

IIRC, George W. Bush has a 52% approval right right now, and he’s generally popular with business interests. I’m not sure why getting him to try to raise money for you if you are in a tight race is such a bad idea at the moment. ---
