Yeah I wouldn’t involve the staff of the place in her birthday at all… That’s something you would chance once you know her much better and you know she’d take it well. A lot of people don’t enjoy having that much attention in a public place. ---

Anyone think it’s creepy that a girl he just met didn’t already have plans for her birthday? Or would think it would put undue pressure on the OP? Seems like the OP doesn’t have a lot going on theoretically. ---

But I was kind of hoping to accomplish that with my personality alone. At anty rate, I like the cupcake idea, but I can’t find anywhere around here that sells them. There’s the sandwich shop where I met her, and they have muffins, donuts, turnovers, and danishes. No cupcakes, though. They do have coffee cake, though. ---

I think that is just as good as anything - a muffin or a coffee cake. Since it’s from the place you met - there’s charm to it that a cupcake can’t buy. See if they can put it in a box for you - but most of all - have fun!! ---

That’s kind of fun and birthday-ish. And there’s something kind of charming and childlike about licking an ice cream cone on your birthday.
