My next neurologist appointment has been changed to a video appointment. No discussion or anything- just got an e-mail: “Let’s get ready for your video visit.” Um… my what? I’m not really sure how I feel about this. I haven’t done any video visits before, so I don’t entirely know what to expect. Seems a little half-assed, I guess, for an appointment I’ve waited three months for. I have to remind myself that I think this is huge and important because it’s my whole entire every-minute-of-every-day life and future, but… it’s like that for everyone else, too. So for the neurologist, I’m just a routine part of his day. I guess I should be happy that it’s more convenient and less risky COVID-wise. I’ve just been brushed off and put off and shrugged off quite a few times in this, so this feels more like a slight than it really is. I could probably request an in-person visit instead, but… it’s not really that big a deal. ---

Oh, a haircut! I’m so excited to get one! I promised myself that I’d make an appointment for this week for another week out so I can see how people are doing with the masks and make sure the numbers are still going down. I went with my (immunosuppressed) mom to a cabinet store the other day and no one was wearing one. I was encouraging her to haul ass outta there but she freaking wouldn’t budge. Today is Monday again - I’m so sleepy right now. My kids were standing, one on each side of my desk, arguing over my head. I lost my shit and screamed at them both and now they’re sulking. I’m torn between mom guilt and enjoying the quiet. I think I’ll enjoy the quiet, get some coffee and then get their sorry butts outside for some sunshine, which will hopefully serve as a sleeping pill tonight. For them. I’m staying up, knitting and watching awful TV late enough I can regret my life choices in the morning. ---

Today’s excitement was walking into town to go to the pharmacy and post office, and having a brief evening stroll now it’s cooling down. Its a thrill a minute, I tell ya. Looking at the forecast, we’ve only got one more day of sun expected before it all clouds over and gets back to what’s actually a little cool for the time of year, though it doesn’t look like we’ve got any rain coming. I thought switching to my summer duvet would work… ---

With the ribs… not so much. They’re cooked, and it’s only 2:30! I put some BBQ sauce on them and turned the oven down to 220º to keep them warm until we eat around 4 or 4:30. ---

Did our Monday mucking out of the homestead, and rewarded ourselves with delivery from 24th & Meatballs again. We’re in a rut, but it’s a delicious rut. The sun is back after a stormy weekend. The garden survived the downpour, and there are little tiny tomatoes on the plants. ---

**Moooooom** , the leftover chicken and the boiled aigs can turn into a chicken and dressing meal tomorrow. 🙂 Having never been through a hurricane, I figure that my essential bugout bags (one for me and one for the dog) would have to suffice. I am the bugout location for my sister in Houston though. She nearly availed my place for herself, the BIL and their five dogs during Harvey. :eek: Today was a day of hurry up and wait. The counts that the weekend guy reconciled hadn’t been approved for closure when we got in, so that had to be done by the boss, the old bat and I closed them out, the sales order guy backdated them in the system and then, only then, could I begin the fortyleven reports that both hit on Mondays and EoM. Watching the third episode of Ken Burn’s _The Dust Bowl_ this evening, then will search for something else to watch. Stay safe and healthy y’all! ---

Howdy Y’all! We have a mystery over to the church house. The stands for the torches (the little candles Acolytes carry in procession and recession) appear to be missin’. I know they have to be there somewhere but couldn’t figure it out this afternoon. See, all that kind of stuff gets put away durin’ Lent when we are all austere and such. What with the quarantine startin’ up durin’ Lent and now havin’ lasted all the way through Easter, I’m sure it’s just a matter of haven forgotten where they got stored. Still, a mystery is afoot. Oh and I did candle duty this afternoon. Tomorrow I shall record my scripture readin’ for Wednesday. Just too tired and don’t care right now. We let Booger King make sup. Eveniing all. Like **Purp** , ended up napping this afternoon and did some reading, outside of that another day of sloth. For some reason the mail comes very late on Monday, think I just heard them, so will check it in a little bit. Probably bills. Dinner was from Sonic, I splurged again and had a Chocolate Shake. Life is looking more normal here in terms of people being out and fewer masks in site…I’ll keep using mine, thank you, for awhile yet. **FCM, flyboy** , Chicken n Pork sounds yummy. Enjoy. **nellie** , sounds from the conversations you should be known as “Dear Nellie…” **Dot** , hope the video checkup goes well. Don’t let the doc try to rush you, get your information out to him. And yes, there are at least two “wrong word” typos that I’ve found in those 30 pages. **Video doctor appointments…** I just had one today. As long as you’re not somehow dependent on the ideas of physical interaction and having your blood pressure taken, it’s pretty much just like sitting in the same room as your doc. My heart doc uses some hyper-HIPAA-compliant chat app, and my sleep doc just uses Zoom. If you’re the type of person who has a meeting at work and thinks “This could have been an email!” you’ll probably love video doctor visits. I handle most of my medical needs by email to begin with, so not having to carve three or four hours out of my day to drive to the doctor’s office is entirely agreeable. ---

I worry about tornadoes. We have a shelter in the back yard. I’ve never been in it because spiders and the fear of been trapped underground. My phobias have seemed to have converged and are trying to make my life more difficult :smack: The Grandwrex were on my heels all day. Seems they are bored. I have about run the gamut of my ability to entertain them. We had chicken as well, tonight. Not rotated tho’. We put two largish hens in the oven to roast. Nuthin’ left but naked carcasses. My grocery bill is outrageous. These peeps are eating me out of house and home. I don’t think Son-of-a-wrek and family have eaten more than a half a dozen meals at their house in 3 mos. I am glad to have them close. It’s gonna be crazy lonesome around here if things ever go back to normal. Y’all have a good evening. ---

**Beck** you’re gonna hafta go in that shelter. Eventually. That’s what it’s for. When you do, shit is gonna be crazy panicky. Go there now, on a calm and lovely afternoon - bring one or two of the Underfoots with you to scare away monsters - and go inside. Sit in the middle. Think about what you want (I mean, the literal first thing you reach for) and make sure there’s a bit of whatever that is available. When/If things go tits up, you’ll want to grab for comfort. Have it ready. Future Beck will be grateful.
