Slight nitpick: The USWF was a Southern promotion based in Memphis up until the mid 1990s, so I’m betting someone owns that, too. Anyway, why the HELL is a U.S.-based company having policy dictated to them by a British court? If the French government can’t tell Yahoo what to do, then why in the name of Lou Thesz (God rest his soul) is VKM being pushed around by these guys? WWE. Sounds just like something Stephanie McMahon would come up with. Why didn’t they just add an extra line to the “F” instead of cutting it off? It looks stupid! Why not get some use out of buying WCW and call it the WCWF? As of right now, I am calling for everyone who watches wrestling, even a little bit, to refuse to call the WWF anything but the WWF. We’ll teach those damn panda-loving creeps at the Wildlife Fund a lesson! Why do we need pandas, anyway? All they do is sit around, eating bamboo and taking craps. -brianjedi ---

My brother and sister and some of thier friends have been watching wrestling for a very long time (at least 15 years or so), and I’d be interested to see what they have to say about this. The WW **E**? Sounds like some poor sap running away in fear from those big, bad wrestlers, if you ask me… ---

Some random thoughts on this… From what I understand, the now WWE could continue to use the WWF initials within the United States, but they’d have to change it anyway for international marketing. And yes, they do a lot of that, because I remember them going on tours of Asia and Europe earlier in the year. Since they don’t want to create confusion, the WWE it is. However, they used to call themselves the World Wide Wrestling Federation until some point in the '70s, so I have no idea why they couldn’t just go back to that. It rolls off the tongue a hell of a lot better than World Wrestling Entertainment, for God’s sake. Last I heard, there was still some legal dispute surrounding the use of the ECW name. I have no idea if it has been resolved yet or not, but the last I heard was that the bankruptcy hearings were still going, therefore the ECW name could not legally be used for profit. Get Vince McMahon off TV! (of course, with Heyman’s charge Brock Lesnar on what is now Raw, they may need to do some manipulating of the rosters, but they shouldn’t have a problem doing that.) Leave the corporate name as WWE if they must, but it doesn’t sound right on television. -Dirty ---
