Not when most of my family, including my grandmother and aunts and cousins died that way.
You have the audacity to think Happy Holidays diminishes Christmas when you and your racist attitudes diminish any real Christian values associated with the season.

i’m just feeding these morons you know. i started this thread with little more than a plea for a more explicit christmas greeting when everyone from guest to moderator starts dumping the racist card on me. i do feel sorry for your relatives and i apologize for my line. now can you help get these anti-racist monkeys off my back?

**mac\_bolan** , would it help if instead of calling you a racist, I said that you’re one fucked up individual?
I must say, working with the public, I was never ONCE told by a supervisor to say, “Happy Holidays” rather than “Merry Christmas”, or vice versa. “Season’s Greetings” always sounds awkward to me.
Besides, the season also includes New Years and Eastern Orthodox traditionally celebrated Christmas on January 5th, according to the old Julian calender. (That’s the day of the Epiphany, which Catholics also observe).
(Usually I just said “You have a nice holiday.” It sounded less formal.)
I’m reminded of the time my aunt was shopping at Kmart and went to the service desk and complained that they weren’t playing Christmas music. If I had been with her, I would have died of embarassment. I love my aunt, but she’s a complete airhead sometimes.
(Jesus, people – Christmas only comes once a year. Can’t we all just get along?)

That’s the danger of your brand of casual racism. You never know who you’re talking to and who you are hurting. It’s always a risk under the best of circumstances- saying the wrong thing. But you casually jab your finger into people’s most vulnerable areas. You don’t get to ask for forgiveness or act surprised when folks get hurt.

i’m giving you a courtesy by apologising personally. but i have no intention of mending my ways just because people speak up. it so happens i give a damn about hurting other people but if i didn’t, i won’t even respond to you. you are not a victim of a henious crime, nor am i a murderer. you are not a slave and i’m not a slave owner. i didn’t bomb harbors during peacetime and i didn’t drop an atom bomb.
