I work with people in lots of time zones - I’m in Texas and routinely correspond with people in California and Hawaii. For that reason, I never start emails with anything other than “hello.” Why? Because it’s disconcerting as all hell to me to get an email, as I did just now, that starts with “Good morning!” At two in the afternoon … ---

Thankfully **purplehorseshoe** mine is more like the second picture and her’s is more like the first. Which is as it should be. When my husband and I moved here two years ago to take care of his parents I was the recipient of a whole box of cardigans that had belonged to my husband’s dear departed (she was 102 when she passed) grandmother. So this family has a long history of cardigan abuse 😛 **Anaamika** that’s really freaky. I mean, really, we all want a cute little black baby but we know enough not to talk about it right out loud. 😉 ---

I don’t want a cute little black baby, or any baby, cute, black, or otherwise. I will tolerate a grandchild if and when it shows up, but my baby days are long gone, and huzzah for that. I have nothing against babies - I just don’t want one living with me or puking on me or waking me up in the middle of the night. So, **velvetjones** , let’s be more careful about those sweeping generalities… 😛 Seriously, I don’t hate babies. But I’m 58 years old and I have neither the patience nor the energy for babies. They’re sooooooo _needy_! And _whiny_!! OK, that’s out of my system. Chickie is in the rotisserie, rotissing. I should probably think about some side dishes. ---

Chickie was good, side, not to much. I cooked up some yellow rice with cauliflower, broccoli, and corn, but I put the veggies in too soon and they got all mushy. ick. But chickie carcass and remaining meat will become soup, so there’s that! Off to knit the night away. \*\*\* MWAH!!\*\*\* ---

Howdy Y’all! I’s home from Shrove Tuesdayin’ (a phrase I coined tonight) and am tahrd. ‘Twas a good time. Lots of people. Pancakes, bacon and sausage flowed freely. So did some beer and wine but not by da bear. I was too worn out from bacon and sausage cookin’ to even think about a beerverage. I know, I know. Everyone just went :eek: Anywho, haven’t read any of today’s posts. My brain cannot comprehend right now. I promise to catch up. OYKW even commented tonight that I looked really tired. Matter of fact he told me not to consider makin’ dindin tomorrow cause he’d take me out for dindin before Ash Wednesday services. Told me, mind you. I’m 43, and as I tell the 3 sons I already have, I can still have 5 or 6 more! Only 1 or 2 will have Down’s Syndrome! No, no more babies. Good god, I have nightmares that I have to start paying for daycare again. That in itself is birth control. Could you imagine if your kids had babies and you had to raise them? Start all over? Ah, hell naw! All of my boys say they don’t want kids, but seeing as how they’re not the most responsible critters… we’ll see about that. One more day to get up at ohdarkthirty and then a 4-day weekend! Yay for 4-day weekends! ---

**’mika** , I think she must be one of those people who think of “babies” as some kind of superduper doll. It smiles, it cooes, it goes googoo… it does not shit the most liquid and stinky shit known to humankind, cry, yell (amazing lungs on some of them), headbutt Mommy’s breastbone, pull Mommy’s hair or eventually grow into a surly teenager. **congo** , you shouldn’t have to remember which conversions you need, in most cases. You should be able to deduct them logically. Ask the TA for help with this as well, or drop me an email. Let me tell you about the hotel I’m in this week… it’s a 4-star hotel, but has cheaper rates than many 2-stars in the same area. How do you manage that? By not including in the rate all those things which customers actually value. The buffet breakfast is 18.30€ - lunch at any of the cafeterias in the train station (some of them quite good) is half of that! Intenet access paid by the minute; there’s a printer for use by customers (pay per page). I’m actually quite surprised the TVs aren’t coin-operated. The closet is walk-in, but the light can’t be switched off except by pulling the keycard out of the room’s main switch. At least its door closes well. The bathroom was a surprise. Fixed showerhead, the curtain is a curtain and the WC doesn’t have the half-load/full-load function which has been ubiquitous in Spain for years. I’m guesstimating the last time the hotel got any construction work done must have been in the late 80s. ---

My “just friend” has a couple of grandkids. It’s fun to get them wired on sugar and hockey, then dump 'em back on mom and dad.😃 Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Well, the good news is that it sounds like **Li-Li** has a large group of babysitters amongst those of us who don’t want babies but really like visiting with someone else’s children. The bad news is that we’re obviously all going to give them sugar and caffeine before we send them back home! 😃 Nice pictures, **Pearl**! Well, I’m here but not quite awake. It’s going to be a very long day and I couldn’t sleep half the night thinking/worrying about it. First up I have a lunch that I have to deliver about a billion miles away from here. Then I have to come right straight back because I start observations today (going to be a few minutes late). I’ll have a couple hour break after that so I can run some errands that I didn’t get done yesterday and then I have class at 5:20 that hopefully won’t last past 7:30 or so. And that’s enough!!
