So it’s my birthday today, and here I am in a motel room 530km from home and I have no cake. And the town I’m in has been hit with torrential rain in the last 24 hrs and record-breaking snow dumps on the nearby hills. I don’t like snow. I don’t like rain either, especially when it belts down like today, almost the whole of the 530km journey! I’m not on holiday…reason I’m here is to help out an elderly friend to attend her sister’s funeral tomorrow. And to be honest, I can’t think of a better way to spend me’ birthday. I’d still like some cake though. 😃 ---

Had to look twice at the red things after the cake…they look like sunburnt sperm really. 😉 And the icing on the (non-existent) cake was that the local Chinese take-out, after me perusing the menu for nearly an hour trying to pick the perfect meal, decided they weren’t going to be open today. I ended up with fish and chips from the only take-away joint in town. I think I’ll remember this birthday for some time…even without cake. ---
