I’m uselessly bisexual. By that I mean that by the time I realized I was bisexual, I was in a committed hetero relationship, which has happened to go on for some 21 years. So, bi though I may be, I’ve never even kissed another girl. _sniff_ (Does everyone feel sad for me? Could someone, please? Just a little?) I don’t think I’ve ever made this known on the boards before, because, well, it’s pretty much a non-issue by circumstance. ☹ ---

I’m in the same boat, **tlw** , except that I knew I was bi from a pretty early age and got in a good bit of girl-kissing before I got married. I sometimes feel funny about coming out to people, though. In a way, I feel like I’m trying to be in the trendy kids’ club while still being able to present myself as plain vanilla for the most part. I mean, I look pretty much like your standard wife-and-PTA-carpooling-stay-at-home-mom model unless you get to know me. Of course, if I were straight, I would still not be sleeping with anyone other than my husband, and if I’d committed to a woman, I’d be monogamous with her, although in today’s society my life would probably be very different. I try to compensate for being insufficiently gay myself by being very openly supportive of those who are more obviously non-straight. And, hey, maybe because of me and people like me, someday the general population will expand their understanding of the above standard hyphenated stereotype to include LGBT moms and dads. I also need to say to **andygirl** that there is nothing at all wrong with being an Oingo Boingo fan. Turn that stereo up and be proud! ---

Ahh… the first National Coming Out Day I don’t have to feel guilty about my family not knowing. Friends and co-workers have known for years. I told my family a couple of months ago. They were a bit more suprised than I thought they would be, but supportive. I still have to explain quite a bit about it, but they’re being receptive, so it’s working out well. Last weekend, there was an overnight vigil for Matthew Shepard in my town. I had to explain the whole thing to my mom. I have a feeling that I’ll be subjected to more “you be careful now” comments. I don’t think she had really thought about the dangers gays/lesbians still face. All in all, coming out has been a positive experience for me. I know I’m one of the lucky ones. Today, my thoughts are for those who haven’t had an easy time, and those still forced to stay in the closet. :mad: :o 😉 😛 :eek: 😕 ---

Ye Ghods!? Has it been 15 years since the **FIRST** NCOD? I was there! Amongst the other 200,000 of us, marching on Washington! Ghods, that was exhilarating! Afterwards, back home in Milwaukee… All my co-workers started avoiding me. _sigh_ Jerks, each and everyone of them. They’d seen the news of the march and I’d told folks where I was going for the weekend. Isn’t it lovely when people who used to talk to you so friendly-like now avoid you. Interestingly, next year, one of the local news stations caught my sign in the local GLBT parade (it reads, Gay, Pagan and Proud!). After catching the sign, the camera panned down and was my smiling face, for all my co-workers to see. I’d moved onto a different job, being a temp does have it’s advantages. And all my co-workers started to avoid me. _sigh_ _fuckers_ :mad: :o 😉 😛 ☹ 😕 ---

I’m a REALLY, REALLY, butch, primarily straight female but… I like small fuzzy animals… beanie babies( specially bears and puppies) and plants… Oingo Boingo rocks On a side note, I am glad I didn’t question that “primarily straight” thing until after I was married. I can’t imagine life without my son. He is the greatest thing in my life right now. ---
