It's NOT a right-turn lane!!

Yes, that was it. The old Solar Motel. What a creepy place. I think at one time it actually had a sign that offered “hourly rates.” I thought it had been torn down.

Why would you have a problem with this, I really don’t understand. the person makign the right is not interfering with you, and actually increasing the capacity of the road by allowign 2 cars to go through the stop sign at once, getting that person to their destination sooner, saving gas, lowerign emmissions levels (since their engine will be running less). It seems like a win-win-win for all, then YOU have to come along with this big chip on your shoulder, get a life.

Simple.
IF the person is getting into a part of the road that is not really a lane, he is endangering others by being in a place he’s not expected to be. Makes it more likely that he will cause a collision. If he causes a collision, there will obviously be inconvenience – at the very least – to the another driver, and quite likely to others as well. Passing on the right (in non-British countries) is inherently dangerous. In some situations, it’s illegal. The biggest blind spot a driver has is in back and to the right. You have to really peer intently into a properly-aligned mirror or turn your head and look around.

Oh bullshit.

And I am through. Moving on.

It’s been my experience that pulling to the right to circumvent a bit of a wait can be VERY dangerous, b/c people tend to dart to the right without looking behind them. I almost drove right into a motorcyclist once, when I was angling right at a red-light intersection while the damn fool was driving right up the shoulder like it was a lane! It scared the shit out of me, he came out of nowhere!

Pulling to the right at the head of an intersection is a different matter than thinking you can hop into the shoulder or “bike lane” for a jaunt past a long line of cars. One may be annoying, but the other is QUITE uncalled for.

If you can’t stand a bit of waiting in line, you shouldn’t be driving at all.

i dont see a problem with such driving.

i do better, when somebody is slowed down on a stop sign i pass them doing 40+ mph straight through the intersection woohoo !

Come back! Your link desn’t work!

We don’t really have bike lanes here in Florida, per se, but “creating” a right turn lane is legal as long as the traffic in front of you is at a dead stop and you aren’t driving on anything pedestrians are walking on.

For my money, the real arsehole is you. You aren’t turning right, so what the hell do you care? It isn’t as if all these people crash into you.

words of wisdom.

what pisses me off more is when people do NOT do it. when there is clearly room for two lanes but they all form just ONE so it takes twice as long for the line to clear the intersection.
