It's Not Christmas Until . . .

OK – this is getting worse.

I tried to edit my post to say that I had read the earlier post as saying “Are you sure you don’t mean Midnight Mass”?

I couldn’t get the edit to take but the :smack: did take.

I will now retreat to my cave and stay there until Phil calls from Punxie and gives me the all clear.

The Rudolph thread gets bumped!

For me, it’s when people start saying Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc. And, yes, it’s already happened.

I knew one of you Charter Members would be around to say that eventually!

When the violet vestments appear to mark the start of Advent, Christmas is definitely on its way.

On a secular level, the harbingers are always the hot weather and the crowds of schoolchildren on the streets as the academic year ends and the school holidays start.

The banners at my church have a graduated theme of Mary & Joseph approaching Bethlehem. Each week it shows them closer and closer, and then on the Sunday before Christmas it changes to a nativity scene.

Thanks for reminding me of that - it was always one of my favorite parts of Christmas!
