It’s been six months since the SDMB went pay. I remember reading arguments that this place would be so absolutely dead by now that we’d be terminally bored with a huge drop-off in readership, demanding our money back. So are we at that point yet? Or should I wait another couple of weeks or so? ---

I was shocked that thousands of people signed up. It never seemed like I’d seen that many people around. My rosiest prediction was a few hundred. It’s not often you get to be so wrong as I was. ---

Please keep me updated on this. I often daydream about becoming a lich and then rampaging through my office. I think it has a cetrain horror allure that simply freaking out and overturning desks quite frankly lacks. ---

Well, if I knew it was going to be dead by now, I wouldn’t have joined in July. And if this dead, I can’t imagine the rollicking days of yester-year when it was alive and kicking! ---
