As I recall, the pods had their pivots in the back, and there were separate spokes. It’s been a few years… ---

Six times in one day is good, six times in one hour would be even better. 😁 I have yet to scream on a coaster – I’ll giggle, laugh, etc., but I’ve never screamed in terror. On a few memorable “one and done” coasters or just bad seats, I have prayed for the ride to end. ---

Evening all. Dinner has been consumed and dishes loaded in the washer (will run them tomorrow after lunch) and besides taking the garbage and recyclables out to the curb, just internettin’ and readin’ remain on the agenda. **Wordy** , sorry to hear about Mom; hope the treatments work fine. **Sari** , hope it’s something they can just snip off of Echo and not anything serious. I don’t have much going on today besides developing my own Itchter scale for itchiness and doing research. Today I find out that yes, there are people with dermagraphia (dermatographia, dermographia–pick a spelling) who have contact urticaria (itching). So that explains it. And yes, it’s considered auto-immune. Why can’t my body go attack a real threat, like, I dunno, murder wasps or something? **OW** , it was oddly gratifying to see you calling the Belmont rollercoaster a pretty good one. At least I had reason to scream on that one. Since you’ve never screamed on a rollercoaster, I think we should call you **WW** for WonderWoman. flyboy, a carnie once told me he made a significant amount of extra money collecting change and bills people lost in the kind of ride you went on. **wordy** , sorry about your mom’s diagnosis. The important thing is it’s treatable, of course, but it sounds like an ordeal, and she’s had enough of those. I’ll be cheering her on from here. The story about the pizza bet made my day. **cookie** , there are some terrific places out there. My mom moved into one in Illinois that she loved. It was beautiful, and there were tons of activities, including wii bowling, several restaurants to choose from, and entertainers that came in a couple nights a week. Some people sat around looking grim, but they’d look that way anywhere. Mom made a lot of friends and was very happy there. AND once you bought in, you could move to assisted living when the time came or the skilled nursing facility. Before that, she lived in a gated retirement community for 28 years. That was also wonderful. My point is, there are a lot more options than you might think. ---

I has a sad right now. I haven’t previously shared my specific place of employment before on the Dope - I work in Guest Services at the San Francisco Zoo. ☹ I also used to work at a zoo (still involved with it). We had one or two animals stolen over the years- small reptiles generally, easy to hide in a bag - and yeah, it sucks. I hope you get Maki back. ---

Well, as usual, cancer sucks! {{Wordy and mom}} Yay for winning an unplanned soccer game. Boo for the person who decided they had to have a tapir for themself. I’m not fond of zoos, but I am fairly certain that they can take better care of their tenants than most individuals. Friends of my parents moved to Panorama in Lacey. The taxes and traffic in the greater Seattle area is too much for most pensioners. I don’t think my parents will follow them, at least not for another few years. They are much more connected to the community and have no intention of leaving. But they do want to make sure they move before the house and property gets ahead of them. Today is more paper sorting. It seems that I saved a lot of receipts, which quickly turned into blank paper, which is a waste of space. I only have 4 more years to sort, and then I can working on all the other papers. The ones that I “inherited” from my grandparents, which they didn’t keep when they moved into nursing homes. It’s interesting to read the notes I wrote them as a child. After going through the receipts, etc, from 2002/2003, I now have 26 postcards, plus 2 UK stamps. It seems I like buying postcards. I think I’ll send those instead of Christmas cards. ---

Productivity has started early - I’ve got a load in the washer, including the clothes I bought yesterday. I wanted to get them out on the line as soon as possible. Today, Roxy is officially 2 anna half, and Daughter is taking her in to be shot and checked over. I’m meeting them at the Dr office to claim the kid so her mama can go to work. Since we’ll be near there, I may make a stop at the playground so she can run around for an hour or so. Not sure what the rest of the day will hold, tho I’m thinking about making burgers for supper. I’ll just wing it! Happy Thursday!! ---

Buncha sleeper-inners!!! 😴 I hung the clothes out on the line, cleaned the cat box, and started the ice maker. That, in addition to tending to the critters and having my breakfast. But thanks to hanging out wet clothes on a cold morning, my hands are cold, so I’m about to have me a hot mug of tea. Got an email from our mortgage guy - the refi has been conditionally approved by the underwriters. Assuming nothing weird pops up, we’ll be closing in a couple of weeks. Then let the savings begin!! We’ve got an appointment with our finances guy next Firday and we can discuss the way forward with him - do we save, do we invest, do we just pay down the mortgage as fast as possible… I don’t know why such money matters are so tough for us, but they are. Time for some tea, then I’ll hit the shower, letting **FCD** sleep in a bit longer. ---

Afternoon, mumpers…poorly eye is still very poorly so this will be short as I’m keeping screen use to an absolute minimum. **(((((Wordy and Mum)))))** hope the treatment is quick and effective for her. **Wheelie** , I visited SF Zoo last time we were over there - more fun times on public transport! I’m sorry to hear about Maki, I hope he comes home safely. Other than that, keep yourselves safe, wash your hands and use the coasters!
