Okay, I have had enough of the excremental spelling on this board. “Yesterday I got a splinter and today it’s oozing puss.” “I’ve got a puss-filled boil on my ass.” “I never brush my teeth and now I slobber puss. Would flossing help?”

“PUSS” is short for “pussy”, which is either a warm, soft, cuddly creature that loves to be petted; or else it’s a cat.
“PUS” is a vile, rancid, creamy substance marketed under the brand name “Miracle Whip.”

Yeah, I can’t see how people can screw this one up, considering that there’s no apostrophe…
However, what gets my goat even more is when they describe their pus-filled wound as “pussy” (pus-sy"). When they do that, it makes the female genitalia seem a mite less attractive.

The word for something that’s full of pus is _purulent._ I want everyone reading this to go use the word _purulent_ in a sentence today. As in, “I _knew_ I should have stayed away from that purulent pussy!”

I’m not one to commonly go quoting from the dictionary (and am one to usually roll my eyes when someone does need to quote the dictionary) but according to the one I own, “pussy” is a perfectly proper word for describing something filled with pus.
I don’t have a problem where you using ‘pussy’ to describe female genitalia makes me think of my cat in an erotic fashion, so I don’t see why someone using the word with a different pronunciation would make you think of female genitalia 🙂
Erm… unless the word makes you think of your cat in an erotic fashion. I don’t want to know about that.
