Greetings from the Southern Lakes district of the balmy Yukon Territory, where it’s been below zero for about a week, and there’s almost six inches of snow on the ground.

But to be fair, it only arrived over the last two or three days.

Hrmph.

Just…hrmph.

It better not do that fifty below thing this year, or I really am moving South. Despite the overcrowding, smog, commutes from hell, apartment buildings and crime stats.

Hey **MrVisible** , how much do you pay for your water, and can you drink it out of the tap? There’s one of the reasons I don’t live there…

I love the way it sounds when it snows. And the smell.
It doesn’t snow here often in the Rogue Valley, so I’ve never learned to drive in it. Two inches and I’m stranded. Even with chains.

?

I’ve never heard snow. Sleet, yes. Blizzard winds, yes. But just gently falling snow has never made any discernible noise to me.

Or do you mean the apparent stillness because the snow muffles everything?

Here in Northeast Ohio, there was light flurries last night. Our first snow and I’m so happy. 🙂

By the way, Octobet 16, is **very** early for snow here.
