It's that time again: what do 15-year-old boys like?

Clothes does seem like a good plan. There is nothing more image aware then a teenager. Of course I can’t give more specific advice because I’m an old fogey.

I’d do clothes only if you know what he’ll like. Getting weird clothes from relatives that are not my thing bothers me to this day.

Not to call you weird, but Doom’s right. Getting clothes for a fourteen-year old is just wandering onto the minefield. :smack:

Do vouchers not work?

2 tickets to a Yankees’ game, then. Maybe you could pickthem for a time you might be in town. If not, get either your dad to go with him or if he’s allowed, he can just take a friend.

I second jeevwoman’s idea - Yankee Tickets. And a jersey.

I suggest a gift certificate to a big box electronics store (best buy or suchlike) because you can’t know what software he does and doesn’t have. Plus, if he finds something more expensive he wants, a GC can really help cut into costs.

Along with that, tickets to a Yankees game… possibly for him and a date/friend (you know, a day away from adult supervision).

Yankees tickets is an excellent idea. The brass ring would be Yankees / Red Sox. (Maybe Yankees / Mets if all the bosox games are already sold out.)

Tickets in general are cool presents. Giants or Jets tickets are awesome, assuming you can find them for less than several hundred bucks. (preseason?) UFC tickets would be good, but he is probably too young to go. (They’re usually at Mohegan Sun…a casino.)

How about a pack of movie theater tickets?

MAD magazine!!!

YES! YES! Every kid should be exposed to a healthy dose of MAD !

Hmmm…maybe a good idea. Dad actually got me a subscription to MAD when I was about that age, but I haven’t read it in years. Is it still any good?

Yankees tickets will be a logistical PITA unless Dad goes with him - they live in Queens, which is quite a haul alone, by public transportation. Any other humor-type items he might like?

Not anymore! They’ve sold out! THEY HAVE ADS!!!

I was thinking that if he is indeed getting an IPod then how about some credit to download some music from I Tunes.
