Apparently my son is as impatient as I am, because he’s coming out in the next day or so, only two weeks or so early. So I’m off to San Antonio, not without a little drama, since Southwest has no more flights leaving for San Antonio tonight. I’m leaving tomorrow morning and getting there around 11 CDT, and then after **MsRobyn** kicks my ass for not being there sooner, the baby, my son, will be born. 😃 I’m so excited. I haven’t been this wound up in a very long time. But enough about me. Since there is the small possibility that Robin might get to check her e-mail or look at the Dope while she’s waiting for Aaron to be born, could you all drop her a word, either here or at her e-mail? I’d appreciate it, and I know she’d appreciate it more. 🙂 Woohoo! Fatherhood beckons. Any advice is welcome. 🙂 -Dave ---

Parental advice - don’t sweat the small stuff, and keep your sense of humor. And ALWAYS make sure you two take couple time away from the young 'un - you’ll all benefit from it. This is very exciting! 😃 ---

I went to the OB Triage unit this afternoon to be monitored, and the contractions are every 5-10 minutes or so apart, but they are doing something (I’m about 1 cm dilated, but not effaced). So, I have to keep an eye on things, because it can change FAST. So, it looks like this weekend or thereabouts! I can’t wait! Aaron’s LiveJournal username, for those interested, is **babydoors**. I wonder if he knows all the love for him I feel? I find it hard believing that this miracle is real. My darling wife has given me a handsome baby son. I know that you can’t tell it yet, but I love you little one. This tiny little being, how can he change me so? What makes me feel so happy that I get to watch him grow? What makes my heart swell up with pride to know that I’m his dad? What makes the tears come to my eyes when holding this sweet lad? I’m making you a promise to be the best dad I can be. I’ll allways be there for you. You can always count on me. But I’ll be right back now, buddy, 'cause I’m 'bout to pop with joy. I’ve got to go and yell to the world… **It’s a boy! It’s a boy! It’s a boy!** (I wrote this just after my son was born. One of the OB nurses read it and then taped it to the window of the viewing room.) Congratulations, DAD! Way to go, MOM!
