It’s that time of year again – Purim is rapidly approaching and the Steinhardt family has once again, as per tradition, baked hamantaschen. And, as per tradition, I am here to share the pictures with you once again. Can you refresh me on what fillings you use? When I baked them at a deli in Lansing we had two fillings, poppyseed and date. ---

Making mine Saturday (yeah, I know). I don’t like to rush into things. Last year I made apple and Nutella; this year I’m doing those, plus raspberry (or strawberry) and meta (with speculoos), and the cocoa-hazelnut spread will be homemade. ---

Brings back great memories of when I lived in Chicago - all of my friends were Jewish (I am not) and they would bring back great goodies from home. I would eagerly be standing at the apartment door when they would arrive with bags of food sent home with them! Sorry, but I did burst out with a laugh at [one photo](http://www.flickr.com/photos/zev_ari/8494292354/in/set-72157632819824044). I haven’t seen a plastic cover on a chair in ages! Now that reminds me of lots of people in my old home town! ---

Chag somaach to you and your lovely family. 🙂 My non-Jewish husband has tried to make hamantashen several times unsuccessfully. The dough always turns out not quite right. I think he just likes saying the word lekvar. 😃
