**Happy birthday wet one!** I managed to get off irk a little after four today. šŸ™‚ When I picked Nelson up from daycare, the owner said that he had a ball playing most of the day with a dachshund and a border collie pup. šŸ™‚ The little stinker seems to make friends wherever he goes. I have a lot of chores slated for the weekend, including replacing the petunias. The marigolds and zinnas are doing fine, but one of the petunias has already died and the other one isnā€™t far from it. Iā€™m thinking maybe something in dark red or another flower thatā€™s deep purple. ---

Re: [My trip up the coast.](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=21664380&postcount=191) I just got home. I did the trip from Orlando, FL to Portland, ME in 2 days. Yesterday was easy as shit. I-95 from Orlando to the NC/VA state line - 10 hour drive only stopping briefly for fuel and food. Today was hell. Fifteen hour drive. Almost got into an accident on the Palisades Parkway; totally missed the Tappanzee bridge and ended up crossing the Hudson at Peakskill; drove the Bear Mountain expressway behind a tow truck at 20 mph; then through every small town in Connecticut to get me to I-84 which was a parking lot. Anyhoo ā€¦ home again, home again, with a new Dodge Dart. I will expand on the trip later; right now Iā€™m pretty much exhausted. ---

Roxy had a screaming fit last night - my personal opinion is that they put her down too early for bedtime, but sheā€™s not my kid, soā€¦ Then I woke again 3 hours later and couldnā€™t fall back to sleep, leading to an hour of playing a stupid game on my tablet till I was falling asleep again. I finally woke around 6. Todayā€™s plan was to mow, but I think Iā€™ll put that off till tomorrow. I need to get some groceries. Iā€™m also thinking about a small chest freezer, but I honestly donā€™t know where Iā€™d put it. Iā€™ll figure something out. Meanwhile, itā€™s laundry day!! YAY!! Happy June 1th!!! ---

Good Morninā€™ Yā€™all! Up and caffeinatinā€™. _YAWN_ 'Tis \ 69! \ Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No biggie plans for the day other than haircuts and grab some N.O.L. whilst out and about. I foresee quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. Also need to figure out sumpā€™n to make to take for first Sunday brunch over to the church house tomorrow. I am uninspired as to what to make. Any need to feed at da cave today will be via forage. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, I suppose I should purtify and make presentable to be seen in public. Bother! Happy Sattidy Yā€™all! ---

Morning all. Up about 6:30 in the Ay-em, refereeing a soccer game at 10, so just lazing around until I need to get ready. My addiction has come back. Last night, with nothing much to do, I clicked on Minesweeper and 3 hours later managed to log off. I really, really get into that game. May have to delete it from the computer lest nothing gets done about the house. **Nut** , so the bees are being fiesty, eh? Flooding from the Arkansas River continues in LR and NLR. There is water near a previous place of employment. I do hope it nails them, but misses the house of step daughter (v.2.0). ---

Happy Saturday! Itā€™s hot and N.O.S. outside. Iā€™m sick. Trip to the armpit has been cancelled, my mother heard my voice and told me to come next weekend. I ordered some Chinese food because I really want some won ton soup. It always makes me feel better. Ripple is driving me crazy, wouldnā€™t let me nap, because he wants to go to the park. I think that will not happen today. I feel badly about it but I ache all over. We went yesterday and while it felt good to get outside, I was achy and didnā€™t feel like all the walking. Iā€™ll be going out after we eat, my son can finish planting the rest of the flowers and I can supervise. That is going to have to be good enough for Ripple. Antlers is standing his/her ground with Ripple, but still runs away of one of us humans goes outside. The neighbors have been very quiet, I donā€™t know if he moved out. I havenā€™t heard the clink of beer bottles hitting the trash can for a few days, no drunken ramblings, no yelling, no parties. I donā€™t dislike the guy, but I sure wonā€™t miss the noise. He was always inviting lots of people over, I know they all have to have cell phones, but they would still yell up to him when they got there for him to let them in. I have previous employers for whom I feel the same way, **Flytrap**. Stay safe. ---

It is obviously confusing, even to me, but it is nice to be able to say in conversation about the TV program _Lost_, ā€œOh yes, all my wives watched thatā€. The water isnā€™t yet into the back yard of SD (v.3.1) yet. That is where Mrs. Plant grew up, and she and I played Trivial Pursuit some thirty years ago. ---
