I do believe that there will be a new definition of “damning with faint praise” in the next edition of the dictionary: “She’s a capable…uh…uh…uh…uh…politician.” ---

Obama sounds like the one fumbling and stumbling to me. He sounds very defensive and hesitant, and keeps making me cringe with embarrassment–not at the substance of what he says, but at his delivery. McCain is on his game tonight, and to my ears he’s winning easily so far. Of course, I’m listening on the radio instead of watching on TV. I wonder how much of a difference that makes. It was a factor in the Kennedy/Nixon and Carter/Reagan debates. ---

If they were both submitting essays, and I am the teacher marking them, I will fail them. John McCain fails most. McCain seems to be picking on “raising the taxes” while ignoring the point that only the really wealthy will get it. How does this got to do with Joe Plumber? ---

Talk about not answering the question. I think Obama’s wonkiness is helping him in this debate. He’s got the numbers and the figures and an easy way to explain how he thinks his plan will work. McCain can only reassure us that he knows but won’t tell us what he knows. ---
