Anyway, to me the two schools of thought are really about one school having respect for or understanding of the reasons they are controlled substances and the other school not caring. Which…whatever. What surprises me is that you, Stoid, don’t know ANYONE that would be reluctant to trade controlled substances. Not a single individual that would hesitate to pass out prescribed meds like candy. Me and my friends – well, I’ll be honest. We have a sort of relaxed attitude in certain areas. If I have an extra Vicodin, and my friend is in pain, yeah, I’ll probably share. BUT. I know a LOT of people who are kind of finicky about the law and such annoying things like that. My best friend’s brother, the cop? Yeah, I won’t offer him my extra percoset. My cardiologist? Probably won’t ask him if he has anything to calm me down, off the books so to speak. None of my friends would pop a dozen benzos in the mail because they wouldn’t want to deal with a visit from the good law enforcing people. You’re acting like it’s bizarre and unheard-of to even know people who follow the actual law that says “don’t share prescription meds.” ---

But in my family and among my friends, the attitude is “relaxed”. And I am not acting like it is bizarre unheard of, I heard of it the last time it came up and I got the news and now I’m acting like some people feel relaxed and other people feel not so relaxed. You know, I have absolutely no way to prove it, but I feel confident that there are persons among those decrying the sharing of prescription meds because it is illegal who have smoked plenty of pot in their lives and never let the illegality of that trouble them too much. But we’ll never know… ---

Earlier in this thread, I mentioned that I found myself wondering if the only way you would ever learn something is via incarceration. I no longer wonder. ---
