Phoenix is by far the most racist city I’ve lived in so the continual re-election of “Fightin’ Joe” is no big surprise. And I do admit, he does have a point that illegal immigrants should not be given sanctuary in Maricopa County. The problem is his philosophy is (to paraphrase Arnaud Amalric) “Deport all the Browns and let the Mexicans sort them out.” ---

Then there’s the dipshit vote. I asked a lady at my office who was proud of her votes for Sheriff Joe why she voted for him and her actual response was. . . . . . . . wait for it . “Well, I haven’t been the victim of a crime since he took office.” She is half-Mexican. There is just no arguing with someone who thinks like that. ---

This is to say nothing of money siphoned from a fund meant for physical improvements of the jail to pay for things like junkets to the Honduras and Obama-birther investigations. I tell ya, it shakes my confidence in the democratic process.
