I used to date a girl that insisted on closing the bedroom door before sex. She didn’t want her Cocker Spaniel, Patches to see. Who’s he going to tell was my response.

I don’t want the dog growling or jumping on us during sex. But, if its just quietly sleeping or sitting there? No, it doesn’t bug me. A cat is in the room? What’s it going to do? Hiss at us? I’m not closing the door for a cat.

It’s time for Sex - Do you put your pets in another room?

Our animals sense when the time is right for lovemaking and they leave without being told.
Really.

I am fairly certain that they get together in the kitchen and make jokes at our expense while we are otherwise occupied.

I don’t have pets anymore, but at the time we had several cats, I didn’t move them or anything. On the other hand, I have no memory of them being there meanwhile or afterwards, so probably they went out when we got going.

I voted “never”, but only ‘cause I can’t. I live in a loft-style apartment, with the bedroom upstairs. There’s no other “room” to keep the cat in. I suppose I could lock him in the bathroom, but he’d make a lot of noise. And, he mostly doesn’t make trouble. But it is a little weird to look up in the middle of doin’ it and see him up on the railing, staring all wide-eyed at us.

Yes, if only because they’d interfere or be distracting. They don’t go away, but like Gagundathar they know not to try to sneak in (have folding doors, and they can push their way in if tenacious enough). During alone time, the cats go away most of the time unless I don’t feel like hunting them down. In all cases the dog is safely locked away.

The cats have learned that when we get going, the bed is ours and ours alone. If they are on it they are liable to get kicked, rolled onto, knocked off, have blankets tossed where they are, and be subject to very loud, disturbing noises. They usually decamp to the living room until things settle down, then rejoin us in bed.

We do because otherwise the cats try to interrupt us to get pet or head bonked. It’s annoying to have to keep pushing overly-friendly cats out of the way while getting it on.

Always, the dog has no clue what we are doing and thinks it’s time to play and jump on the bed.
So yes, always.

I marked always, but it depends on the situation. I don’t have any pets, so if it’s at my place it’s irrelevant. But with my last GF, we always shut the pets out.

Her feeling was that pets are like children, and would be scarred for life seeing us go at it. Funny, the dog had no qualms licking her own vajayjay in front of us. My own feeling was that I didn’t want the dog interfering, and wanting to “cuddle” right along with us. That would have been a pretty bad distraction.

Of course now I associate sex with the sound of a whining, lonely dog.

Both of my cats seem to know they’re not welcome on the bed at that time–even the really needy one who never wants to leave us alone otherwise.

I find it rather amusing that he’s so respectful. But only when it’s time to get groovy. 😃

Our dog is anyway not allowed in our bedroom, so I put “Never”.

Many years ago I dated a woman who had two cats. She had never had an orgasm before. She was convinced that if she used a vibrator, she would. It took months and months to finally convince her to get one, though. (Yeah, she was a little weird.)

We finally got one for her, and she was trying it out. She was really getting into it until she looked up and saw me and both cats staring at her.

The show was over at that point.

I put always since that is technically accurate, but the primary reason is that our dog would (not if) interfere. We have no problem getting it on if he is locked in his kennel in the same room as us.

I picture the cats holding pennants reading, “Go team!”

Their expression was more like “I think something’s wrong with mommy, but I don’t know if we should interfere.”

Our cats watch us casually all the time. We figure, we watch when they tussle and play, so they’re probably doing the same thing. (“Look … they’re playin’ …”)

Would it be too douchebaggy of me to ask, “what did you expect dating a woman with two cats?”
