I remember the hell that my mother went through with my father, and how it took such a toll on her own health. I would never want to put my partner through that. I have no doubt that he would do it, but he’s 20 years younger than I am, and I’d hate for him to waste the best years of his life, feeding me and changing diapers.

Well so far my mental capacity seems to be about average for someone my age, so I’m not jumping to conclusions yet. And I know where to go for help if I ever need it.

My father’s mother died of Alzheimer’s. My father had Alzheimer’s but died of some of other stuff before the Alzheimer’s ate too much of his brain.
I am scared shitless of getting Alzheimer’s.
