This officially goes out to **Drewbert** , because his sig “Just a guy made of dots and lines…” is from one of my favorite They Might Be Giants songs, “See The Constellation.” And every time I look at his sig, I just go, “man, that’s great. I should tell him!” And then I go off and post on something random and forget. But not This Time! Anyways, Drewbert, your sig rocks. Anyone else can say this to anyone else in this thread, it doesn’t JUST have to be about drew… ---

Someone has a sig line quoting Einstein about problem solving. I should of cut and pasted it then and would be grateful if someone would now. It was really beautiful in its stark simplicity and depth. ---

Someone quite some time ago had a sig that said (paraphrased, since I don’t remember who said the first 2 quotes… Nietsze? Voltaire? Someone else will smack me upside the head and let me know soon, I’m sure.): “To do is to be” (by such and such) “To be is to do” (by so and so) “Do Be Do Be Do” Sinatra Does anyone remember who had this sig? All right, you guys are ripping off my ideas. There’s a sig I love, and just this morning I thought “wouldn’t it be a great idea to post to that person that I love their sig?” Then, I see this and instantly know the one I want to put on there. Too late, Brunetter beat me to it. Every time I read the bit about cooking and chilling, I just get hysterical. I forwarded that quote home for later. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, but I just feel the need to keep it around for future use. ---

I love that sig **Tommy**. It sounds like it’s from a movie I should know, but… Everytime I read it, I get a little chuckle. 🙂 I also really like those sigs that are well layed out, even if it has to do with some personal thing I know nothing about. Just as long as they have a good aesthetic(sp?) quality. I deperately need a new sig. ---

DVous, I believe Derleth’s sig is the chemical equation for a nuclear reaction, and more accurately, a hydrogen bomb (I believe). Simetra, Tommy’s sig is from “The State”, that old MTV sketch comedy show. I believe it was Johnny Bluejeans (or the guy who played him, now seen on “Ed”) and somebody else who were quite excited about having been given $250, and spending most of it on pudding. Its the only skit I remember from that episode. Hilarious! Thanks Tommy. ---

Brunetter: Gee, Thanks! Dichotomus: I don’t know where it originated, but I know that series of quotes appeared in the MIT guidebook HoToGAMIT in the mid 1970s. I’ll have to dig out my old copy, but the quotes are from philosophers – Artre and Nietzche, maybe. DVous Means: It’s a nuclear reaction. You add a (presumably high- speed) neutron to an atom of Uranium 235 and it splits into a lotta parts, giving off 165 Joules of energy per Kilogram. That’s a pretty fair amount.It also spits out three more neutrons, which can go on to fission other atoms of U235. This reaction lets you build bombs, power plants, and Pop Rocks for Jovians. ---
