I got a new 2005 Grand Cherokee last week. It has a 5.7 liter HEMI in it and does 0-60 in 7 seconds flat. It is truly awesome. That is all. šŸ˜ƒ ---

I have a 1988 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 liter straight six. It does 0-60 in about 20 seconds. It truly sucks. That is all šŸ˜ƒ ---

We had a GMC Jimmy that was given to us. I think it had a 5.7l in it but no HEMI. It handled like crap, was poorly designed, squeaked, rattled and creaked, but stomping on the gas made my balls tingle. I canā€™t really intellectually justify having a vehicle with such a gas hogging engine, but I can see the appeal of it. ---

Well, itā€™s got a hemispherical combustion head. At the time (50s-60s), it did develop more power than some other engines. Itā€™s a different way of doing certain things. Er. Where the gasoline explodes? Itā€™s a hemisphere on top, and not flat. The vehicle somewhat of a joke among hard-core Jeep drivers - independent suspension on a Jeep?!?. Iā€™ve heard that the product team had to stack rocks to get the Liberty over the Rubicon Trail, and even then it came off with much more damage than is normal for a stock vehicle. Iā€™ve got a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.2 liter V-8. Iā€™ve never timed 0-60, but itā€™s got enough power to suit me. ---

Yes it does have an IFS, but if you read the reviews, youā€™ll see it handles just fine offroad. It did win [Petersonā€™s 4x4 of the Year](http://4wheeloffroad.com/05_4xoty/) as well as a great review from Rockcrawler. You can keep your bone jarring solid axle, thanks anyway. I have a Wrangler TJ if I want to crawl over rocks. ---
