I’m glad Frodo is home. What a handsome lizard! Tell his owner if you get a chance that there are harnesses made for lizards, so maybe Frodo can get some sun without getting away.
Anyone else read the title and think:
…I got music,
I got my man
Who could ask for anything more?
No? Just me?
Very creative sign you made, Munch, good sense of humor.
Well, I didn’t until I read this.
I think I may hate you now.
Uh, not a good idea – do you know what dragons DO with princesses?
You called it!
I don’t know where the OP is. But down here in FLA saying, “I’ve got lizards” is like saying, “I’ve got sunlight.”
Munch, aren’t you in Indiana?
We babysat a Russian Tortoise for a couple of years and she was quite the wanderer. She seemed to enjoy the exercise so we began to focus more on homing devices rather than foiling her escapes.
Our best was the remote, I’d tape it to her shell and then page it with the tv - instant beeping tortoise.
Since this is about lizards, I have a lizard that lives in the gap between under one of the stone steps down to my place from the sidewalk. He’s just the normal 3-4 inch long brownish lizard like I’ve seen all my life in California. I notice him sunning himself on the step quite often, then darting into the gap when I approach. I have named him Alphonse.
He was gone for pretty much the whole winter, but I started seeing him again a few weeks ago. Do lizards hibernate? How long do they live? Basically, do I need to find another name, or am I probably still property-mates with the same and original Alphonse?
I’m not sure about “lizards” in general, but beardies brumate which is similar to hibernating except that they will get up once or twice a week to stretch and get some water. Very strange for a first time beardie owner not expecting it.
Maybe Western Fence Lizard, or possibly some form of Alligator lizard, possibly Southern if you’re in SB.
Could be the Southern. I’m not sure. I’ll see if Alphonse is in a photogenic mood tomorrow morning.
