I’m sure the cost is more “complicated” too. Though my mom had one, she got it at a big discount because all her friends worked for free…she basically had to pay for time and materials. folks - pls do not confuse an adominal lipo with a ‘tummy tuck’ - they are VERY different things - the full-blown tuck consists of peeling off the adominal wall, and stitching muscles together, then trimming the flesh to fit the smaller target - kinda of like trimming the top crust from a pie. Very gross, Very intrusive, Very damaging. pics are on the web, but i’ll be damned if I will link to them. What Sue is describing is relatively minor. Good luck! ---

Good for you - I’ve considered the lipo route before, but I always talk myself out of it. Mostly, there are just other things I want to spend my $$ on. I have a friend who had it done - twice. After the first round, she kinda went hog wild, thinking that she could eat whatever she wanted and wound up putting on a bunch of weight, both in the lipoed areas and the non-lioped areas. She went back and had a second procedure done and now has been quite pleased with it. I suppose that anything a person is willing to do _TWICE_ can’t be _that_ bad, right? Anyhow - good luck! I’m sure you’ll be happy with your decision - if you’re already happy with your body, this procedure should just enhance it. Al. 🙂 ---

$4800 total. $3000 surgeon fees for the first site (tummy) + $600 for each additional site (hips) = $3600. $1200 for surgical center fees ($1430 for more than 2 sites). Add in my medications (Prescription strength vitamin K for clotting, antibiotics and painkillers) and the fact that I have to have an HIV test prior to the surgery and you can say that it’ll be about $5K. ---

Hey Sue, for 5 grand you can fly to Prague, have a great vacation, finish with a bunch of lipo, then go home… They are advertising lipo and breast augmentation plans as vacation alternatives for Westerners here…Supposedly pretty good stuff. My cousin-in-law is a doc here- all first rate stuff, but not nearly as expensive.
