What are “pan drippings”?

> Ah, you mock, but the truth is I very rarely eat poutine. Certainly less than once a year. Of course, it’s quite healthy, containing several of the food groups: salt, cholesteral and starch. All that’s missing is alcohol and sugar.

Just add a beer and top it off with a fried Milky Way or Snickers and you’ll have a complete meal.

The residual liquid from the sauteed mushrooms.

If Italian poutine (which is delicious BTW, a nice change) makes you uneasy, I guess I won’t go in details about the **feta** cheese poutine that some places advertize around here.

I suspect she was an imposter; but alas, it is true that not all Southern women are good cooks. I guarantee that sausage gravy is anything but bland.

> They’re just as Canadian as poutine. Really, you want some, I’ll make it myself and ship it down to you…

Aw, that’s really very kind of you, but it probably wouldn’t do it justice–what with not being all warm and gooey and all.

I’m hoping to make it up to Ontario this summer for a fishing trip, and I will definitely look for poutine.

I tell ya, it has a pretty big reputation to live up to, but it sounds terrific.

Mmmmmm… My sister called about 10 minutes ago and asked me if I wanted anything from outside. I asked for a KFC poutine.

Yes, KFC makes poutines here!

If I don’t get too lost in the pleasure of eating it, I might remember to post a picture. I should get it in about 15 minutes. Mmmmmmmm…

Now that’s just crazy talk!

Obviously that would be _breakfast_.

I think I would really like poutine and I want to try it. Having said that, those pics in **astro** ’s links look like something a drunk with tapeworms would throw up.
I’m in! Can you get them in DC?

I was just in Toronto for a business trip (well Mississauga actually) and the Burger King near my hotel had poutine on the menu. I didn’t try it because I figured that fast-food poutine can’t be as good as the real thing.
