My sweetie called me just a bit ago from the San Jose airport. His flight leaves in an hour or so. Yay! I’ve finished 3 loads of laundry, and the 4th is in the dryer. The house needs to be vacuumed, and the kitchen needs to be tidied, and if I get motivated enough, I’ll bathe the dog. That’s a big _if_… It’ll be a boring day, but that’s OK. I can deal with boring. I’ve got a video I want to watch and a cantaloupe that needs to be cut up. All in all, not a bad way to spend my day. ---

Mr. Anachi and I just got back from looking at some occasional tables (that would be coffee, end, and sofa) for our new livingroom (living room?) furniture what got delivered yestidy. We’re looking for darker wood ovals and the take-out (takeout?) furniture places are surprisingly limited in that category. I did find some online at Ashley so we went to look. But, after viewing, we decided that the end tables were too tall so we passed. We’ve decided to live with the ones we have which are in very good condition, at least until we find zactly what we want. Looks like more than a plugging problem with the old vacuum. I put in a new bag and checked all the hosing before I started vacuuming and didn’t even finish the bedroom carpet before it quit again. Mr. Anachi looked up uprights in the Consumer Reports book and there is a Eureka priced at $140 that ranks as a CR best buy so I’ll be looking for that I think, since **ashes** likes hers okay. **taters** , you folks are having entirely too much fun with that new boat. I’m jealous! **fcm** , I am also jealous of your maters. **lissla** , good vibes coming from down heah for your dainty lil knee. Better keep it away from **Mr. Taters** what with him looking for knees to eat. **draelin** , I agree with everyone else that you look _faaaaaaaaabulous_ in the bridesmaid dress. Oh, I almost forgot! Mr. Anachi did excellent at his regular checkup on Friday. His blood pressure is normal, his cholesterol is down to 130 (!!) and he’s lost some weight. Yay, Mr. Anachi!!! So, tonight as a reward I’m gonna grill some thick porkychops. I’ll be good, though, and just make a veggie to go with. Off to fold some clothes, see y’all tommory. Tupug ---

**Puggy** , one thing about the Eureka (The Boss SmartVac) is that it is not a delicate machine for delicate people. It’s not all that more heavy, but it literally really sucks. If it’s hard to push around, you might have it set too low. Or you might just get really good arm muscles from pushing it around. It’s official, I’m going to visit Mom. I’ll be back to bug you all by wednesday or thursday. We’re going window shopping and I’ll switch to annoying my cousins so’s to stay in shape. Crud, this means ironing is in my very near future. Bleh. ---

this is probably worth a thread on it’s own, but I’m not much for starting threads (and not with how i’m feeling right now). I got to work this morning, and I’m told that a dear friend in the office won’t be coming back from her trip to Perth, cos she and her husband have met with a fatal accident. And to make this even more painful, she was three months pregnant. sorry folks, I’m not at my usual caffienated flippant best today, and I know this post somewhat brings down the tone of the MMP, but my friend is worth remembering. She was a hell of a woman, strong, intelligent and permanently cheerful. I’m still having trouble coping with this (and holding back all sorts of emotions while I type), but I need to get some of this out. Sorry for the maudlin posting, let’s now return to our regularly scheduled MMP. ---
