Man, I’m so tired. But I’m also excited, because I’m uploading all of my music to my shiny new iPod. I don’t know what time I have to work tomorrow. That’s bad, right? I also haven’t seen my cell phone in 2 days. ---

I am so glad it’s Friday. This week has not been much fun at work (except for the pizza and ice cream (icecream?) cake yesterday. Last night Mr. Anachi and I had to put the old livingroom (living room?) furniture out to the curb cause today is oversized items pickup (pick up?) day. We did it before we went to bed. Then I got out my vacuum which I knew was plugged up (pluggedup?) sommers and took it apart. There was a wad of new carpet fibers and doggy hairs as big as your head stuffed into a six inch section of the hose where it goes into the sweeper head. It took me about a half hour to pluck it all out of there and then I had to vacuum the living room. It got plugged up again just as I finished. I may need to get a new vacuum. After that I went to bed. The furniture was gone this morning. 😃 The new furniture comes on Saturday. We will have to sit on the floor and have a picnic for dinner tonite. Well, we could actually sit at a table in the dining room or the breakfast nook but where’s the fun in that? The bad thing is that they don’t have the end tables we ordered. How can they sell us furniture they don’t even have??? Now I gotta look for some at yet another take-out (takeout?) furniture site. ☹ **taters** , did I miss sumpin? Why the Friday dental appt for hubby? **lissla** , yes send QD to my house. My pantry is bulging and it’s one chore I hate, hate, hate! Next week’s Restaurant Week in Albany. A bunch of the downtown restaurants all offer 3-course meals for $16.09 (the year Albany was founded, although I really think that Henry Hudson just pitched his tent here for a night and maybe had a fire and roasted some marshmallows and that’s what they’re calling “founded”). Anyway, I made reservations for a friend and me for Jack’s Oyster House, which is one of Albany’s venerable old restaurants. I’ve never been there (it’s normally WAY too expensive). But when you get to try the fancy restaurants for only $16.09, that’s really worth it. I’m very excited. Before that, I’m going to Boston for the weekend to visit a couple of my friends. Somehow it seems that alotta my friends moved that way after college. It’s a great city, but just too expensive to actually live there. Anyway, I’m excited. I love visiting the city and it’s been a while since I’ve seen one of these friends. So should be good. Despite the 3+ hour drive each way. And maybe I’ll go to the aquarium because \*\*Anaamika \*\*was there a couple weeks ago and said there are baby penguins. Awww, baby penguins! But before THAT, I have a conference call in a few minutes. Any tips on how not to fall asleep?? ---

**Lissla** , if QuasiDaughter does dishes, send her to my place. 🙂 Speaking of quasi-daughters, last night I went and got my nails done with a friend. I find it mildly upsetting that the ladies at the nail salon seem to think that she’s my daughter. She’s six months older than me, and we’ve been friends since junior high (for those keeping score at home, this is the bride in **Hell’s Wedding** ). Sure, she’s tiny and she looks sixteen, but I got told just yesterday that I don’t look more than twenty-four (by someone who _wasn’t_ hitting on me, so I believed it even though I disagree). First of all, I’ve been remiss in something: Happy Anniversary, Anachis!!! Sorry I’m now two days late on that. **Draelin** that’s so cool that you went to Berklee. I once interviewed a woman who almost won a Grammy in the mid-'90s, and she was a Berklee drop-out. She told me that the place was full of rich kids who were there only because they were spending Daddy’s money, and that all the serious musicians never graduated from there. It sounded good, so I believe her. Plus, she’s really talented and adorable, so I tend to believe anything women with those qualities tell me. Today’s excitement is never ending. I spent all morning typing up a bid to replace cables and hardware for a Navy ship that’s undergoing an overhaul, then had to find someone in the US that can supply us with pressure gauges and thermometers that have BSP fittings. Not as easy as it sounds. When I get that request for quote sent out, I’ve got to go yell at the kid we hired to keep our inventory neat and easy to get to - he hasn’t done either of those things. (I end up doing a lot more here than what I was hired for. Makes the day go faster at least.) And now, like **VBob** , I have a potential hurricane to worry about. I am _so_ going to enjoy my Yuenglings tonight, let me tell you. ---

At my last job, we had Buzzword Bingo, which is tons of fun if you can play with other people. But then we all started cracking up when our boss said her favorite phrases in meetings, so it wasn’t all good. ---

I got my butt smoked last night \. It smelled so good when I pulled it off the smoker it was all I could do not to chomp down on a great big hunk of it right then. Tonight we shall dine on smoked butt \, potato salad, steamed asparagus and garlic bread. YUM! Then I’m gonna shred the leftover butt \ and we’re gonna eat bbq sammiches til it’s gone which means tomorrow probably. **Bumba** I am taking my laptop (lap top?) with me next week. I assume all hotel/motel places have internet connections these days but who knows. After all one of my luxurious accommodations next week is a Super 8. I’m not sure those have indoor plumbing. 😃 **donkey** did you drop your cell phone (cellphone?) in the bushes again? ---

I can’t speak for everyone there, but I guess I _was_ a rich kid spending Daddy’s money. 🙂 I had originally gone there for their Music Production and Engineering program. I have a good voice, and that was my principal instrument, but I can’t _write_ music to save my life, and I really wanted to get into the technical side. Alas, once I got there, they had decided to limit the MP&E program to only those who already had a little experience in it, which I most certainly did not, and I couldn’t get into the classes. I chose Film Scoring as my major, hoping to get into the film/music editing area. Then I spent my second semester majoring in my boyfriend, and inevitably dropped out. I had always felt that I was one of the least talented people I knew there, and that probably played a part in the decision. But of all the people I knew and was still in contact with at the time, only two of them even graduated. ---

I normally put the phone on mute and surf, but unfortunately, this was one of those semi-live/semi-conference call meetings. There were 4 of us in the room plus the phone. And we were in a conference room so no computer. ☹ But I survived! There’s a lot of political stuff going on that, fortunately, doesn’t directly involve me, but that makes the meetings a lot more tense. Where in Boston is Berklee? I think I’ve heard of it but I’m not sure why or how. One of my friends that I’m going to visit works for Showa Boston, which I’d previously never heard of. It has something to do with language and culture and is a school for foreign students or something like that but I’m not entirely sure. I think there’re a lot more schools in Boston than I ever knew about! ---

There are a _lot_ of schools in Boston–I remember someone telling me that 25% of Boston’s population is college students, but that’s probably complete bull. Berklee is located right on Mass. Ave. in the Back Bay, down by Boylston St. That’s the school’s main building, and it was also my dorm. There are other buildings all over the place in a few blocks’ radius, and my English classes were held in the Boston Architectural Center on Newbury. I highly recommend Little Stevie’s pizza on Boylston right near the Berklee bookstore, and the Pour House, also on Boylston, down by the convention center. 🙂 We loved that dorm because we were two blocks from Tower Records–I still have to go in every time I visit Boston. ---

I’ll tell Quasi-Daughter that I’m going to put her in a box and send her off. I am still open to being paid in Trader Joe’s cookies. Other Quasi-Daughter just phoned to tell me that she’s engaged. Good. I’m glad. They’ve already booked a hall and I’m all ready to make her dress, so it’s a good thing he actually proposed. I get to wear black. The bridesmaids will be wearing black. I’m so happy. ---

**Tupug,** yeah the hubby is in serious need of dental work. Last week, while camping, part of one his teeth came out. This tooth and the area around it have been giving him trouble on and off again for quite some time. The night before last he woke up with a tremendous toothache and asked me to make a dental appointment. He wanted a Friday appt because Fridays are usually the slowest days for him at work. **taxi,** I hate conference calls, but even worse are the VTCs. Everyone can see everyone so there can’t be any eye-rolling or anything when someone says something totally stupid. We ate pizza for dinner last night. I wasn’t all that hungry so there is still some leftover in the fridge. Oh, and **Tupug,** I just LOOOOOOVVVVVE my Dyson Animal. Just saying since you say you’re thinking you need a new vacuum. So far no clogs and my carpet looks practically new when I’m done with it. ---

Getting old and using up teeth is the pits. :mad: I just looked at the Dyson home page. Nice! I will have to save up some money and make old Dirt Devil last a little longer. Tonite I’m thinking I want a Philly Cheesesteak (cheese steak?) from a new Pizza and Such place that delivers. It was pretty darn tasty. Good picnic food to my mind. ---

Friday is over with! YAY! Just a quick post to say y’all have a great weekend. I need to get back to my steamin’ away asparagus (ass-pay-ray-guz). In case I didn’t mention it, I got company coming over for dinner. An early dinner followed by some frollickin’ (that’s probably not spelled right but I don’t care) in the pool. It’s cloudy here but it’s hot so the pool will feel good. ---

**Mr. Taters** is providing some entertainment because he cannot talk properly. They pulled his problem tooth and really numbed him up well. Plus, he has to keep a mouthful of gauze in his mouth so he is really hard to understand. We keep saying, “What? I can’t understand you…what the heck are you trying to say?” I went to the pharmacy to pick up some Vicodan for him so once he takes some of that he’ll _really_ be fun. He’s supposed to eat “soft” foods tonight. What the hell is that? What counts as soft foods and will fill him up? Any suggestions? I’m sad that it is Friday because that means my two-week vacation is almost over. I know that I will be facing hell when I get back, too many taskers, not nearly enough time and nothing will have been done in my absence. Sigh, I know this will always happen, so I have no one but myself to blame. However, my vacation was well worth the crapola I will endure come Monday morning. I hope… My daughter’s friend is coming to spend the weekend with us. She’s a vegetarian so this presents a bit of a problem. We are meat eaters. However, the hubby won’t be eating any meat tonight, I think. So, I guess I’ll take the girls shopping with me and we’ll decide on a menu. Oh my goodness! The kids are just rolling on the floor laughing at my husband. He keeps saying the most ridiculous things. They are made even more funny by the fact that he can’t talk properly. He also keeps asking what’s for dinner. I keep telling him that it is only 2:35 and I’m not making dinner now. He couldn’t eat at this point anyway. ---
