Pubes do function a bit like graphite, as a dry lubricant to prevent chafing. If both partners shave, there can develop friction burns in contact areas that aren’t naturally lubricated. If you’re lucky. So the best bet is one partner shaves, the other just trims. ---

My gyno at Planned Parenthood told me she was seeing a large number of ‘labia-centric’ (totally my word, you can’t have it) dermatitis cases; seems body heat +sweat +urine +fabric softener can cause an allergic reaction one wouldn’t usually have on your arm, etc. The hairs can be your friend. ---
