She’s been living in her white-bred world
As long as anyone with hot blood can
And now she’s looking for a downtown man
That’s what I am
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown, where all the lights are bright
Downtown, waiting for you tonight
Downtown, you’re gonna be alright now
Since I never met a nit I couldn’t pick, Prof.P, just let me say that the first line (as printed on the lyric sheet that accompanied the Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2 CD) is “she’s been living in her white-BREAD world” … referring to the belief that white bread is common, dull, bland, and uninteresting.
The next two lines – “as long as anyone with hot blood can, and now she’s looking for a downtown man” – can be interpreted as she’s looking for a little more spice and adventure in her life, which further confirms the “white-bread” view of things.

I apologize. I just copied the text off a lyrics site, and didn’t bother to proofread. Mea culpa.
in play:
Forget your troubles, c’mon, get happy;
You better chase all your cares away.
Shout “Hallelujah!”, c’mon, get happy;
Get ready for the judgement day.
Get Happy – Judy Garland
A man, he’s like a three string fiddle
Hanging upon the wall
He plays when somebody scrapes on the bow
Or he can’t play at all
And we’ll sing hallelujah
The turning of the year
And we work all day in the old-fashioned way
Till the shining star appears
Richard & Linda Thompson
Shining star come into view
Shine its watchful light on you, yeah
Gives you strength to carry on
Make your body big and strong
Born a man child of the sun
Saw my work had just begun
Yeah, found I had to stand alone
Bless it now I’ve got my own oh yeah
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away (never let it fade away)
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day (save it for a rainy day)
Ever catch a falling star
Ain’t no stopping 'til it’s on the ground
Everybody is a star
One big circle goin round and round
I’ve got a song
I ain’t got no melody
I’ma gonna sing it to my friends
I’ve got a song
I ain’t got no melody
I’ma gonna sing it to my friends
Will it go round in circles
Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky
Will it go round in circles
Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky
Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever spinning reel
My love has no beginning, my love has no end
No front or back and my love won’t bend
I’m in the middle, lost in a spin
Loving you… ou ou ou
Find a wheel, and it goes round, round, round
As it skims along with a happy sound
As it goes, along the ground, ground, ground
‘Till it leads you to the one you love!
Round and round and up and down and round and round and
Rollin’, rollin’ I don’t know
Never ends and never ever wants to let me go
When over you comes waves of blue
Have no fear
'Cause I’ll be right here beside you
I push the other valve down
The music goes 'round and around
Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
And it comes out here
The Music Goes 'Round and Around – Louis Prima
Louis Prima was a trumpeter and jazz band leader in the early-mid 1900s. He also voiced the character of ‘King Louie’ from Disney’s The Jungle Book, and elements of his performance style were incorporated into the on-screen character as well.
-“BB”-
I push the middle valve down
The music goes down and around below
Below, below, deedle-dee-ho-ho-ho
Listen to the jazz come out
I first remember if from the movie The Five Pennies with Danny Kaye playing Red Nichols.

Hey ho, let’s go
Hey ho, let’s go
Hey ho, let’s go
Hey ho, let’s go
They’re forming in a straight line
They’re going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop
Comin’ straight on for you
You made my mind
Now I’m stronger, now I’m comin’ through
Straight on, straight on for you
Straight on for you
Straight up!
Now tell me, do you really wanna love me forever
(Oh, oh, oh.)
Or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Always and forever, each moment with you
Is just like a dream to me that somehow came true
And I know tomorrow will still be the same
'Cause we’ve got a life of love that won’t ever change
