Take me in your arms and rock me, rock me a little while
We all must feel heartache sometimes
Right now, right now I’m feelin’ mine
Rock me gently
Rock me slowly
Take it easy
Don’t you know
That I have never been
Loved like this before
You’re the light
You’re the night
You’re the color of my blood
You’re the cure
You’re the pain
You’re the only thing I wanna touch
Never knew that could mean so much,
So, so much…
You’re Mickey Mouse.
You’re the Nile,
You’re the Tower of Pisa,
You’re the smile on the Mona Lisa
I’m a worthless check, a total wreck, a flop,
But if, baby, I’m the bottom you’re the top!
See the pyramids along the Nile,
Watch the sun rise on a tropic isle,
Just remember, darling, all the while,
You belong to me.
See the marketplace in old Algiers,
Send me photographs and souvenirs,
But remember when a dream appears,
You belong to me.
We’ll extend fair Egypt’s power
Egypt’s glory strength and style
We shall have our finest hour
Far beyond the mighty Nile
He must have a vault that’s grand by
Any standards, floor to lid
Put five thousand slaves on stand by
Build another pyramid!
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sun rise on a tropic isle
Just remember, darling, all the while
You belong to me
See the marketplace in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me
Well I was wandering along by the banks of the river when seven fat cows
came out of the Nile
And right behind them fine healthy animals came seven other cows,
skinny and vile
Well the thin cows ate the fat cows which I thought would do them good
But it didn’t make them fatter like I thought a monster supper should
Because the thin ones were as thin as they had ever ever been
This dream has got me baffled, hey Joseph, tell me what it means
C’mon you know that kings ain’t stupid
But I don’t have a clue
So don’t be cruel Joseph
You gotta help me now I beg of you
I heard a bonny cow low, cow low, cow low,
I heard a bonny cow low over the lea.
And it was an elf-call, elf-call, elf-call,
And it was an elf-call calling unto me.
And the little elf-call, elf-call, elf-call,
And the little elf-call said unto me:
Come and nurse an elf child, elf child, elf child,
Come and nurse an elf child down beneath the sea.
Come and nurse an elf child, elf child, elf child,
Come and nurse an elf child down beneath the sea.
In Edinburgh I used to know a lass with an’ air, an’ her name was Jo;
An’ every night at ten, I would meet her in the glen.
But now I’ll not see her again. Especially not in the glen, at ten.
For now across the green, I’ll go home with bonnie Jean!
Jean, Jean, roses are red
All the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come out to the meadow, Jean
Bows and flows of angel hair,
And ice cream castles in the air,
And feather canyons every where,
I’ve looked at clouds that way.
But now they only block the sun,
They rain and snow on everyone,
So many things I would have done,
But clouds got in my way.
Cloudy
The sky is gray and white and cloudy,
Sometimes I think it’s hanging down on me
Sometimes I run
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I’m scared of you
But all I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you right, be with you day and night
Baby all I need is time
I believe that you and me last forever
Oh yeah, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl, I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night-time
All day and all of the night
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we see
No, I won’t be afraid
No, I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
Seems as though I’ve lived my life on the bad side of the moon.
To stir your drinks, and sittin’ still,
Without a rustic spoon.
Now come on people, live with me,
Where the light has never shown.
And the hornets flock like humming birds,
Speaking in a foreign tongue.
A stranger’s light comes on slowly
A stranger’s heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then smiles cover your heart
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Strange brew, kill what’s inside of you.
People are strange when you’re a stranger,
Faces look ugly when you’re alone.
Women seem wicked when you’re unwanted,
Streets are uneven when you’re down.
