# J.D. Robb "In Death" Series Question

So, I’m reading the J.D. Robb _In Death_ series; I’m up to book 10 or 11. They’re kind of like chips: you can’t read just one. However, I’ve heard that, at some point, the quality (what there is for this type of novel) does diminish greatly. So, can any Dopers make a recommendation at what point I should give up this junk book addiction? I see there are currently 47 books in the series, and I’d like to know where to stop. Thanks!

i’ve read them all so far. as long as eve continues to evolve, i’ll keep reading. the character has come a long way from the beginning of the series.
yes, they are m&m books, not 12 course meal books. they read fast and are interesting.

Yep. Ditto. Fun little mind-candy, with some decent plots and hooks, and a very good long-term ongoing plot that runs the full length of the series.
Enjoyable, worth the 8 bucks, but I don’t think I’ve ever re-read one of them.

I’ve re-read bits and pieces of a number of them–I love seeing various characters interact.
That said, there have been several that I have not liked for one reason or another, but if there has become an overall downward trend in quality, I haven’t noticed it.

of the secondary characters, li morris is my favourite. as the books go on you learn more about dr. morris.
the developement of the people around eve help to keep the series moving. some books the secondary characters will come to the fore, and the main characters will step back.
