There was some show on TV today and they had people discussing if Jabba the Hut had sex with Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi. Now I never thought Jabba had sex with Leia. I don’t think if he is so equipped. I always just assumed he performed cunnilingus on her. Jabba did make a very sexual gesture with his tongue. Does anybody know if this was ever discussed in the novel or expanded universe? What does everyone think happened between Jabba and Leia? Nothing? Cunnilingus? Analingus? Intercourse? Something Else? ---

Uh . . . BDSM. Thought it was obvious, with the chain and all. Probably no genital contact at all; I don’t think a Hutt’s turn-ons have anything to do with anything on a humanoid’s anatomy. (Although, come to think of it, he did seem to have a bit of a thing for boobs. Maybe he does lick those.) ---

You know, it is a deeply tiresome cliche in sci-fi that alien males will be attracted to human females. The later Star Trek series were particularly egregious about this, but it is ridiculous wherever it turns up. I assume that Jabba would only be attracted to a female Hutt. ---

I have always assumed (and will continue to do so) that Jabba considered Leia and the girls before his pets. She should be glad he didn’t have her fixed. ---

Well, besides all that, there’s the scene where Jabba pulls the female Twilek close. I mean, what was he going to do, eat her? (Noooo… I don’t mean _that_. I mean literally eat, like a pack of noodles). It seems pretty obvious to me that Jabba is supposed to display sexual interest in females of different species, which makes him all that more of a disgusting character really. Compare this, if you will, with old fantasy or adventure films in which the fat, underhanded (preferably Mongolian-looking) evil lord tries to force himself on the blonde girlfriend of the hero. IMHO, that’s the image Lucas tried to create with Jabba. That having been said, how come female Twileks are all sexy and beautiful, whereas male Twileks are deformed and vile (from a human point of view, of course)? ---

It’s something between humliation and keeping them as a pet. He had affection for the girls (in a twisted way), and thus wanted to keep them close and fondle them (as one would fondle a puppy). Mostly, he just got off on control and humilitaion. I think he also realized that keeping scantily-clad women about in chains also increased his reputation among the humanoids. ---

It comes up a few times in the books that Jabba’s interest in non-Hutt females is a source of disgust for other Hutts. So yeah, he’s even considered a perv by other Hutts. The books don’t (to my knowledge) go into any great detail about the extact nature of the attentions Jabba imposed upon Leia, I think **Menocchio** pretty much summed it up with “humiliation and some fondling.” ---

I’m waiting for the first science fiction epic to reverse the stereotype. Let’s see a human bad guy imprisoning a female Hutt (or the equivalent) and dressing her up in lingerie and lusting after her body. That would expose how ridiculous the whole cliche of someone being physically attracted to an alien really is. ---

There’s a whole range of sexuality including people who are aroused primarily by their own bodies and also including people who actually do engage in interspecies sex. Now, it would be an extremely rare human who would be aroused by a Hutt, and admitting to it would likely make him a pariah, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility. On the other hand, if you’re talking about classic Trek, most of whom closely resembled humans or were capable of assuming humanoid form, I would think mutual attraction would be a much more common occurence. It might be initially condemned but gain acceptance over time. (Whether or not extraterrestrial life is likely to resemble humanity at all and if such meetings could produce viable offspring are separate matters.) ---
